The Teen SPOT is Officially Open
The Dr. Carla J. Thornton Teen SPOT is officially open!

The new hangout for MoVal teens was dedicated on Wednesday, June 9, by Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez. Teen SPOT is an after-school space that offers Support, Programs, Opportunities, and Technology, as well as a casual, supervised space to get homework help, use a state-of-the-art computer lab, and participate in fun and educational activities and workshops.

The Teen SPOT is located at the City's Conference and Recreation Center at 14705 Frederick Street.

Fireworks Frighten Pets
Every 4th of July, many pets end up in the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter because they run away after being frightened by fireworks.

To make sure your four-legged friend doesn't get lost, we recommend microchipping your pet and making sure they're wearing a visible collar with your contact information on it. You can also upload your pet's photo to Petco's Love Lost website, so the Animal Shelter can easily recognize your loved one.

If your pet runs away, walk through your neighborhood, alert your neighbors, post flyers in your neighborhood, and post alerts about your lost pet on social media. You can also search for lost pets on the Animal Shelter's website.

And remember, fireworks—they're just not worth it.

Pet of the Week: Claudio
Our Pet of the Week is Claudio. He is a playful Greater Swiss Mountain Dog mix who's ten months old. This playful boy is very docile and already responds to a few commands. Although young Claudio is already large, he’s still growing, so why not grow your family and make this big pup part of it?

If you would like to make Claudio or any pet from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter part of your family, please contact the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter at 951.413.3790 or visit www.moval.org/pets.
