Local Artists Invited To Submit Artwork
Calling all MoVal artists!

The City of Moreno Valley Arts Commission is currently accepting applications from local artists to display their artwork through the Art Loan program. We're looking for family-friendly art to beautify several City facilities, including the Moreno Valley Council Chamber and the Library.

Any artist who lives or works in Moreno Valley is welcome to apply! The deadline to submit your application is September 13, 2021. Art pieces will be on display through December 2021. Applications are available online at moval.org/artloan.

For more information, contact the Parks and Community Services Department at 951.413.3701.
Watch the Community Beautify MoVal Together
Our second Beautify MoVal Community Day of Service was a blast! Hundreds of community members of all ages came together on Saturday, August 14 to get their hands dirty and clean up two MoVal parks.

Check out this exclusive video highlighting our volunteers in action as they enhanched playgrounds, picked up litter, and painted.

If you missed the event, don't worry! Our next Beautify MoVal Community Day of Service will take place on Saturday, November 13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Visit moval.org/beautify for more information.
State Route 60 Closes Overnight this Weekend
Due to necessary utility work by Southern California Edison (SCE), the 60 freeway will be closed in both directions from 9 p.m on Saturday, August 28 to 6 a.m. on Sunday, August 29 from Perris Boulevard to Moreno Beach Drive.

The closure is needed to replace a transmission crossing over the freeway at Kitching Street, which will improve the overall power capacity in Moreno Valley.

Detours signs will be posted during the closure, and MoVal motorists planning on driving through the area during that time are encouraged to use those alternate routes.
A Visit to Rancho Verde Trail
Take a leisurely stroll along the Rancho Verde Trail, which stretches just under two and a half miles from Andalusian Lane to Moreno Valley College, and Kentucky Derby Lane back to Andalusian Lane. The trail, for both humans and horses alike, features a staging area with drinking fountains and covered benches to take a break from the heat. Learn more online about Moreno Valley's amazing trail system today
