In this edition of the Mayor's Minute, Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez invites you to the annual State of the City Address on Thursday, August 18, at 11 a.m.

This year's State of the City will feature Moreno Valley's incredible progress in enhancing public safety, investing millions of dollars into our roads, and bringing tens of thousands of good local jobs to Moreno Valley. Mayor Gutierrez will highlight Moreno Valley's legacy of service that has enhanced the community’s quality of life and put Moreno Valley on the map.

Moreno Valley's 4th of July Parade & FunFest is Almost Here
Celebrate Independence Day the MoVal Way! 

Join us at 9:30 am to watch our exciting Fourth of July parade down Frederick Street, featuring all your favorite community members, local businesses, and more.

Don't forget to stop by our signature FunFest at the Civic Center Amphitheater, which is the best Fourth of July event in the Inland Empire! The FunFest will run from 2 pm to 9:30 pm, and feature live bands, delicious food vendors, a beer garden, a youth fun zone, and one of the most exciting fireworks shows in the region! Entry is free from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Illegal Fireworks Can Cause
Serious Injuries or Death
Not only are fireworks illegal in Moreno Valley, but they are also incredibly dangerous and can lead to severe injury or death.

On average, close to 200 people nationwide suffer fireworks-related injuries per day in weeks leading up to the July 4th holiday. Approximately 39 percent of all fireworks-related injuries happen to children between the ages of 0-14.

Moreno Valley Police Officers are treating illegal fireworks as their number-one non-emergency priority, and those caught with illegal fireworks can be fined up to $3,500.

Sprouts Farmers Market Comes to MoVal with Celebrity Chef Danny Seo
A brand new organic market is Sprouting in Moreno Valley!

Join Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez, the Moreno Valley City Council, and your fellow community members for the grand opening of Sprouts Farmers Market on Friday, July 8, at 8 a.m. 

The grand opening will event will feature free artisan coffee and foods, as well as a performance from the Canyon Springs High School band. Sprouts has planned a full lineup of exciting events all weekend long, including raffles, prizes, and an appearance by celebrity chef Danny Seo!
