Mayor Gutierrez Celebrates Moreno Valley at the 2022 State of the City Address
In his annual State of the City address on Thursday, August 18, Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez celebrated Moreno Valley’s legacy of service and highlighted landmark achievements in public safety, road repair, job creation, and more. 

Mayor Gutierrez also presented Community Leadership Awards to local changemakers who made a positive impact on Moreno Valley in the past year:

  • Community Partner of the Year – Salvation Army
  • Community Contributor of the Year – Amazon
  • Public Safety Legacy of Service Award – Sheriff Chad Bianco
  • Excellence in Education Award – Michael R. McCormick 
  • Community Business Member of the Year (Large) – Car Pros Kia Moreno Valley
  • Community Business Member of the Year – Continental East Development, Inc.

Raising Cane's Officially Opens in Moreno Valley
Caniacs, rejoice!

On Monday, August 15, Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez and the Moreno Valley City Council celebrated the grand opening of Raising Cane’s.

Known for their chicken fingers, fries, and Texas toast, Raising Cane's is the newest addition to Moreno Valley’s growing lineup of exciting dining options. In a show of goodwill to the community, Raising Cane’s also donated $1,000 to Moreno Valley’s Parks & Community Services Department.  

Raising Cane’s is the newest business to open in Moreno Valley, joining the ranks of Sprouts Farmers Market, Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, Orleans & York, and many others.

Celebrate Mexican Heritage at El Grito de Independencia on September 15
Celebrate Mexican Independence Day and Hispanic Heritage Month during the annual El Grito de Independencia festival on Thursday, September 15 from 5 pm to 10 pm at the Civic Center Amphitheater.

El Grito is a free celebration of Mexican heritage that commemorates the country's battle cry for independence. El Grito will feature exciting ballet folklorico performances, great music, a charro, delicious food, fun games, and a live feed of El Grito in Mexico City!
