In this edition of the Mayor's Minute, Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez highlights all the exciting events happening in Moreno Valley during the holiday season. 


Celebrate our veterans during the Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, November 11, and help keep our parks beautiful during the Beautify MoVal Community Day of Service on Saturday, November 12. On Saturday, December 3, ring in the Christmas season during our Snow Day and Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Moreno Valley Comes Alive During

Day of the Dead

Moreno Valley's Civic Center Amphitheater came alive on Friday, October 28 during our annual Day of the Dead celebration. 


Residents enjoyed amazing music from Mariachi Cantares and Corazon de Maná, exciting ballet folklórico performances, local vendors, and unique altars commemorating loved ones who have passed on to the spirit world.

Honor our Nation's Heroes at Moreno Valley's Veterans Day Ceremony

Join Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez and the Moreno Valley City Council as we honor our local heroes during the annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, November 11, at 11 a.m. at the Civic Center Veterans Memorial.


The ceremony will include performances from the Canyon Springs High School madrigals, the Rancho Verde High School JROTC, and remarks by special guest speaker Col. Erik L. Aufderheide of March Air Reserve Base. 


The ceremony will be broadcast live online, on social media, and MV3. Visit moval.org/veteransday for more information.

Beautify MoVal is Next Saturday, November 12

Our next Beautify MoVal Community Day of Service is next Saturday, November 12, from 8 a.m. to noon!


Join Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez, the Moreno Valley City Council, and hundreds of your fellow community members as we maintain the beauty of Rock Ridge Park and the Cottonwood Golf Center. We'll meet up at City Hall at 8 a.m. for coffee, pastries, and fun before setting out to beautify Moreno Valley's parks!

Pet of the Week: Bandit

Our Pet of the Week is Bandit, a sweet three-year-old Australian Kelpie. Bandit is well-mannered, enthusiastic, and the kind of dog you can always rely on to be a good friend. All Bandit needs is a good home and a family he can call his own.
