Illegal Fireworks Are Fire Hazards

As temperatures heat up across Southern California this weekend, illegal fireworks can create significant fire hazards for our local first responders.

On average, over 18,000 fires each year are started by fireworks. With an already difficult fire season on the horizon, illegal fireworks can put our heroes at risk.

If you cause a fire due to lighting off fireworks, you will be liable for fire suppression and property damage costs, which can soar into millions of dollars.

This Fourth of July, leave fireworks to the professionals. To report illegal fireworks in your neighborhood, call 951.247.8700 or visit moval.org/fireworks.
