Exclusive Report: Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for Highly Anticipated Expansion of Senior Center


On Tuesday, October 22nd, Mayor Ulises Cabrera and the City Council broke ground for the highly-anticipated expansion of the Moreno Valley Senior Center. 


This new expansion will add more than 4,500 square feet to the facility, providing additional recreational space and amenities for some of our most vulnerable community members to gather together, exercise, take classes, and just have fun!

Honor Your Loved Ones at Day of the Dead

Want to display an altar at our Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) celebration? We are looking for residents who want to honor a loved one. 


This year’s free and family-friendly event will take place on Friday, November 1, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Civic Amphitheater, 14075 Frederick Street. 


Our Day of the Dead celebration will feature great music from The Outlaw Mariachi, exciting ballet folklórico performances, local artists, festive food vendors, kids arts and crafts, a beer and michelada garden, and beautiful altars commemorating the lives of deceased loved ones.

Break Out Your Running Shoes!

Join us on Saturday, November 16, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. for Moreno Valley’s second annual Fun Color Run!


Celebrate health, fitness, and community as we run, walk, or even dance along the family-friendly two-mile course! This colorful event begins at the Civic Center Amphitheater and winds around town. It promises to be great fun for the entire family. Strollers and four-legged friends on leashes are welcome! 


And at the end of the course, all participants can gather for raffle prizes, music, food, and a celebratory toss of brightly colored festival powders! We hope to see you there to help make our second annual “Fun Color Run” a memorable, exciting event for everyone.

Honor Our Beloved Veterans

Join the Mayor and City Council as we honor our local heroes at the Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11, at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial, located next to City Hall at 14177 Frederick Street.


The ceremony will include performances from the Moreno Valley Master Chorale, and Leadership Military Academy JROTC. Our featured speakers will be Mayor Ulises Cabrera and Colonel Bryan M. Bailey.


The ceremony will be broadcast live on Facebook, YouTube, and MV3.

Pet of the Week: Gaucho

Our Pet of the Week is Gaucho, a one-year-old Dogo Argentino (yes, that's an actual breed!)


Gaucho is a gentle soul. At 90 pounds, he's a big dog with a big heart, and his sweet, gentle gaze will melt anyone's heart. We double-dog dare you to resist!


He's leash trained, and looking for that perfect home to become a loving family member, and resident couch potato.
