A Visit to Adrienne Mitchell Memorial Park

Adrienne Mitchell was 20 years old when she was killed during the Gulf War in 1991, becoming the first woman from Moreno Valley to die in combat. Four years later, the City of Moreno Valley dedicated Adrienne Mitchell Memorial Park to honor her sacrifice.

Today, Adrienne Mitchell Memorial Park is a 4 1/2-acre recreational area where families gather to enjoy each other's company. Located at 22631 Bay Avenue, Adrienne Mitchell Memorial Park features four basketball courts, barbecues, horseshoes, picnic tables, playgrounds, and a walking path.

Adrienne Mitchell Memorial Park stands as a fitting tribute to one of Moreno Valley's fallen heroes.

Pet of the Week: Dodger

Our Pet of the Week is Dodger, a two-year-old, brown and black German Shepherd Mix.

Dodger is well-trained and is a true sweetheart. Rumor has it that Dodger was named after the Major League Baseball team just down the street. Not surprisingly, he is true to that name, and loves to 'play ball'! We also know he would love to slide into the perfect loving home and be part of the winning team.

If you would like to make Dodger, or any pet from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter, part of your family, please call 951.413.3790 or visit moval.org/pets.

The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter is located at 14041 Elsworth Street in Moreno Valley.

Note: If our featured Pet of the Week has already been adopted when you inquire, please consider one of the other loving pets in the shelter looking for their forever homes.
