Watch These High School Interns Describe Their "Summer at City Hall"
We recently said goodbye and thank-you to 14 high school students who interned at City Hall for a month. They took part in the Summer at City Hall program, open to Rancho Verde High School seniors. But before they left, we asked them what they gained from their time at City Hall.

Watch this video of them describing their experience -- and be reassured that these young people are whip-smart, full of energy and initiative, and are preparing to change the world!

Keep MoVal Beautiful: Report Tagging!
Would you believe it? City crews remove about 8,800 spray-paint tags from walls and sidewalks each year. That adds up to cleaning about 128,000 square feet of surface!

And we're going to keep removing tags just as fast as we can, because the faster they're removed, the less likely they are to reappear. What taggers don't seem to get is that the rest of us take pride in our City and want to keep making it more beautiful.

You can help by reporting tags on the City's 24-hour Graffiti Hotline at 951-413-3171 , via the City's free mobile app, or on the City's website .
Call Before You Dig: 811
It’s the Law
Last week’s deadly natural-gas explosion in Murrieta could have been avoided had a contractor heeded the warning of “Call Before You Dig.” One person died and 14 others were injured when a gas line ruptured.

Because electrical, natural-gas, communications, sewer and other utility lines could be within a few feet of the surface, both contractors and homeowners are required by state law to call “811” for an Underground Service Alert (USA) at least two days before digging. USA will notify local utilities so they can identify where lines are located.

If you plan to dig, PLEASE take time to avoid tragedy by dialing 811 first.
