Bill's Special Kids Pays Tribute to MVPD Officer
Moreno Valley Police Officer Diana Moreno was recently honored with the 9 th annual Evelyn Yearsley Award for her support and dedication to Bill’s Special Kids, a sports program dedicated to children with special needs. Officer Moreno received the award at Bill’s Specials Kids’ 2018 Baseball Awards ceremony on May 18.

For the last two years, Officer Moreno, the Moreno Valley Police Department Community Services’ Unit and Police Explorer Post 882 have helped out with Bill’s Special Kids Baseball League, participating in weekly baseball practices and games to help the players develop their baseball skills along with a love for America’s pastime.

Known as the Stallions, the league was created by Bill Yearsley, a long time Moreno Valley resident and retired member of the Air Force. The league is celebrating its 21st anniversary.

The program has proven to be a rewarding experience for Moreno Valley Police Explorers and the Community Services Unit.

On behalf of the Moreno Valley Police Department, we want to say thank you to all of the outstanding kids and staff who make the Bill’s Special Kids program possible. We look forward to many more years of working together.
