Morning Announcements 11-28-16

Boys' Varsity Basketball won their home opener last week 80-54 against Firebaugh High School. Senior Sean Huynh led the team to victory with defense and passing, also adding 10 points. Senior Mike Lightbody scored 26 points, junior Paul Vu and Sophomore Garrett Young each scored 10 points, and Senior Cody Newsome added 8 points. Thank you to everyone who came out over the holiday break.

Congratulations to the Mock Trial team for their 2 wins two weeks ago. The team is now 2 and 0. Notable recognition goes to Kyla Alberto, Helen Dang Vu, Evelyn Hoang, Taylor Nguyen, Jane Liu, Ryan Ash, and Sasha Stepanov for their outstanding performances. Good luck Tuesday night, Prosecution team and Go Big Red!

Attention all students: if you are struggling in math, science, English, social studies
or world languages, and are in need of tutoring help, stop by the new After-School Academic Assistance Program (formerly known as Homework Club) in the Media Center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, starting November 29th, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. Student tutors will be available each day- no sign-ups necessary.


Attention all ping pong participants! Be sure to check the tournament bracket for the playing schedule in front of activities this week. The first game will be this Wednesday, be sure to come out and support!

Attention all Juniors! Junior Commission is selling class long sleeves for $15! Pick up an order form from any Junior Commission member or from room 301 to support your class and to represent your FV spirit!

The after school academic assistance program (AAA) formerly known as homework club starts this week!  Simply drop by the Library on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm for homework help.

FVHS Theatre Presents Hamlet
Get your tickets now for Hamlet at  http://www.fvhstheatre.com/  Students are $7 ($5 for matinees) and Adults are $12.  The shows are Wednesday, 11/30 at 7pm, Thursday, 12/01 at 7pm, Friday, 12/02 at 3:30pm and 7pm, and Saturday, 12/03 at 3pm and 7pm.

Emergency Alert System 
Titan HST

Titan HST is a comprehensive campus emergency communication network.  The mobile application allows users and emergency personnel to communicate emergency information instantly. Parents are encouraged to download the app to instant receive emergency alerts on their mobile device. FVHS students and teachers have been instructed to have the app available on their phones in case of a campus emergency. Cap and Gown Orders

Seniors plan to order your Cap, Gown, Tassel, Graduation Announcements and Senior Remembrance items next Tuesday, December 6th by the Cafeteria from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. Ordering packets were mailed to the homes of all Seniors.  A sample of your schools Custom Graduation Announcement is on display now in the Activities Office.  Senior Ring orders will also be taken and delivered in 6 weeks.  Extra ordering packets for Caps, Gowns, Grad Announcements and Senior Rings are available in the Activities Office.
Senior Salutations

T he first deadline for yearbook senior salutations is Tuesday, December 13. Price is $150 for half page and $250 for full page. The price increases after 12/13.

Deadline Extended for Sister City Student Exchange

The deadline for the Sister City Student Exchange Program to Anjo, Japan  has been extended until Tuesday, January 10, 2017.

Any student in the Huntington Beach Union High School District is eligible to apply.
