President's Corner
Good morning, Seven Pearls Family!
Thank you to all who have registered thus far for the historic Keys of Gold Weekend occurring this June! The Board of Directors are so excited to welcome you to Cary to celebrate this momentous occasion. We are diligently preparing for your arrival and ensuring the events are nothing but spectacular.
We are also implementing our 2nd phase of operations which includes community service campaigns worthy of our Founders' legacy. As dedicated educators, they not only worked hard to give children in our communities' programs that were educational but inspiring and empowering. Our Canvas of Change STEM game for middle school girls is a great example of this initiative. Witness this powerful exchange during our upcoming celebration.
Join as we "Unlock our Legacy" not just in June but always. In this way, we can ensure the mission and vision of the Seven of '1922' lasts forever.
Happy 7th!

Industry News: Trends in Education & Leadership
Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
As we continue to focus on empowering educators and women in leadership, a recent report from the National Education Association emphasizes the growing importance of social-emotional learning (SEL) in schools. SEL is playing a crucial role in fostering resilient, compassionate leaders who can navigate challenges with grace and empathy. The integration of SEL into educational frameworks is not only helping improve student outcomes but is also fostering a more inclusive, supportive environment for both students and educators.
President Caroselli shares her story on how SEL was beneficial to her school.
"As an Assistant Principal in Phoenix, Arizona, I witnessed the impact of SEL. My students were physically fighting nearly every day. My principal and I were worried about the welfare and mindset of our youth and needed a plan ASAP to combat the problem. Enters our new school Social Worker. She introduced a SEL program pilot for our middle schoolers. She and I were put in charge of implementing this program. We taught our students how to regulate their emotions, problem-solve, conflict resolution techniques and developed a chain of assistance for them to follow. This started in September. By March, we saw the fruits of our labor. Students utilized the skills taught to them and began self-regulating their emotions and problem-solving with their peers without adult help. It was not unusual for me to be ousted from my office for them to use to discuss an issue. They always walked out giving each other "pounds" and laughing. Most of the time, they came to realize the issues were due to miscommunications. It was amazing to see young people take on a challenge and rise above to lead, empower and inspire each other. Our violent infractions drastically decreased."
In line with our commitment to educational excellence, the Seven Pearls Foundation is exploring ways to incorporate SEL into our upcoming initiatives. Stay tuned for more on how we plan to bring this valuable tool into our programming to better support the development of the next generation of leaders.

Heart to Lead Initiative- A Program Dedicated to Women's Health
Seven Pearls Foundation, Inc. is proud to be in partnerships with the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association and Lupus in Color. Through our Heart to Lead™ initiative, the Seven Pearls Foundation is committed to advancing the health and well-being of women of color by addressing critical health disparities. Collaborating with various organizations, we seek to combat three interconnected health challenges—heart disease, stroke, and lupus—that disproportionately affect women of color. These conditions are often linked by common cardiovascular complications and systemic healthcare barriers that lead to delayed diagnoses and poorer outcomes.
To kick off our Keys of Gold Weekend, Racquel Dozier, Founder of Lupus in Color, will lead an empowering seminar dedicated to educating, inspiring, and empowering Black women to take control of their health. This initiative will address key health concerns, including lupus, high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke, providing valuable resources, important supportive discussions, and an interactive wellness experience. Participants will walk away with practical tools to improve health and uplift the community, to thrive beyond illness.
May is Lupus Awareness Month and we salute all of the beautiful strong butterflies! We are proud to support the fight in finding a cure for Lupus. Through education, research and conversation, we can win!
