ESPN Films on the Morningside 5: 
Can't-miss TV



From beginning to end, "Morningside 5," a 25-year journey into the lives of the starters from the 1992-93 Inglewood Morningside High basketball team, offers surprise, heartbreak, drama, disappointment, anger, inspiration and hope.

Set to be shown on  ESPN on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., the 90-minute presentation from the ESPN Films group is narrated and directed by Mike Tollin, who put together the original documentary in 1993 entitled "Hardwood Dreams."

The team's star player was Stais Boseman, one of Southern California's best two-way athletes of the 1990s. Morningside was coming off a state title in 1992.

For someone who has covered high school sports in Southern California for more than 40 years, it's always intriguing to learn what happened to the the so-called "can't-miss" prospects once they left the prep ranks.



A Look at the Rams' and 
Chargers' Future Home



The Rams and the Chargers won't move into their new Inglewood home for some time, but construction is already progressing on their new digs. 

The stadium, impressive as it's expected to be with its 70,000 to 100,000 seats, is only the cherry on top of a massive sundae. The Los Angeles Stadium and Entertainment District at Hollywood Park will also include a 6,000-seat performing arts center; 890,000 square feet of retail space; 300 hotel rooms; and approximately 25 acres of "public parks, open space, pedestrian walkways and bicycle paths," according to the stadium  website . 

Located two miles off the 405 Freeway and one-and-a-half miles off the 105 Freeway, owners are expecting the stadium to be a "must-see" destination.




A creative's space in 
up-and-coming Inglewood


Completely rebuilt this year, this live-work space in Inglewood's Arts District has unbridled living space for creative types plus a few extra perks: a rain shower, dutch doors and vaulted ceilings with skylights. But the real prize is in the backyard, where manicured gardens and landscaping by Jack Price Design fill the quarter-acre of grounds.
