"Saturday Afternoon Radio Hour
  with Fibber McGee & Molly"
Saturday, October 13th, 2:00 pm
GET YOUR TICKETS TODAY!!

This year's Fall Challenge is set... we'll be time-traveling back to the Golden Age of Radio (in the early 1940's) for a vintage radio show featuring the Morningside Radio Times Players.

The afternoon will include a funny and entertaining episode of the ever-popular classic radio program, Fibber McGee & Molly, and a yummy selection of tasty appetizers and tempting sweets.

Tickets will be on sale this Sunday following worship. As this is our Fall Challenge Fundraiser, prices will be on a sliding scale according to what you'd like to pay... we're suggesting anywhere from $10 to $50 per person.

Look for the ticket sellers after church to purchase your tickets or if you have any questions.

Hope to see you at our Saturday Afternoon with Fibber McGee & Molly!

Donations and Helpers Needed
Lunch packing begins this Sunday!

School's back and so our Back Pack Lunch Program begins again. Designed to get the kids (who are participate in the free school lunch program) through the weekend, our
program is set-up to provide sustaining meals for those kids to take home on Friday for the weekend.

There are two ways to help...
  •  Monetary donations of $10 per month or a one time donation of $100 will sponsor 1 child for the entire school year. Checks should be made out to Morningside UMC with a memo "Backpack Lunch Program."
  •  Help pack lunches.  Check-in with Sally Neff, our Backpack Lunch coordinator. She can fill you in on the lunch packing schedule.

Habitat for Humanity
Tuesday, October 2, 2018, 8 - 9 am
The Willamette Room, Salem Convention Center

As a continuation of our support for the Mid-Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity, we have all been invited to the 2018 HopeBuilder Breakfast. The breakfast is fully underwritten by sponsors so there is no charge; however, donations are accepted to support the local Habitat organization.

Those of you that have participated in Habitat events should have received an invitation or e-mail with the details. And those of you wanting to support this worthy cause are very much encouraged to attend. I am hoping that Morningside can fill a table with ten people or maybe even two tables with twenty people!

To RSVP, you can either respond to the invitation you received directly, pick up an invitation in the narthex or call the local Habitat Office at 503-364-6642. To fill the Morningside table(s), please note or mention that you are Invited by table host: Liz Hunt. Come join us in fellowship while supporting an organization that "Helps families build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter."   - Liz Hunt
