Garbage Pick-up

With the recent snowstorms, there have been many questions about garbage pickup. We are in communication with our Garbage Hauler and they will alert us if there is a problem with pick-up. They will always do their best to pick-up as scheduled. If they do not come on garbage day, it is due to an emergency or it is unsafe to travel due to weather. As a general guidance, we recommend that you put your garbage out the night before the scheduled days. We will try our best to alert residents in advance if there is a change in the schedule via the Morris Plains Borough website, or email alert. Since weather is so unpredictable, we will not always have the answer the night before. The website is the best place to check for updates.

In addition, there have been questions about holidays and garbage pick-up. Garbage will be picked up every Monday and Thursday. The only holidays that impact garbage pick-up in 2021 are as follows: June 1, September 7, July 6 and November 26. We will not have garbage pick-up on these days.

Snow Safety Reminders from the MP Fire Department

Help us keep fire hydrants accessible during the winter by removing snow and ice around the hydrant for three feet in every direction, and clear a path from the hydrant to the street.
