Fall 2021
Mosaic Capital Campaign Launched
Supporting new Madras Health Center opening Spring of 2022
As you might have seen in the news, Mosaic Medical and the Jefferson County Health Department have partnered to build a new health center in Madras. It will be located next to the St. Charles Medical Center in Madras and is scheduled to open next spring.

The new building will enable Mosaic to expand our service to the Madras community, doubling our medical exam room space, providing much needed additional space for Mosaic dental and behavioral health services and offer a new, low-cost Mosaic pharmacy available to the entire community.

We are actively seeking donations to bring the project to completion. Learn more in this Mosaic blog post.

Health Center Construction Updates
CONNERS HEALTH CENTER - BEND

Construction has continued to move rapidly along, despite challenges with material shortages.

"Exterior finishes and storefront glass and doors are nearly complete, as are interior flooring, ceiling grid and painting," said Michael Marino, Facilities Manager at Mosaic Medical. "The wall system, plumbing and electrical fixtures will also soon be completed, along with interior doors and hardware."

Scheduled to open in early November, the project is a partnership with Housing Works. The health center and Mosaic Pharmacy (open to the public) will occupy the ground floor. The upper three floors will be a 47-unit apartment building housing low-income seniors.
MADRAS HEALTH CENTER

"The project is currently on schedule, with the building shell now complete," said Marino. "Exterior water proofing, siding and masonry are underway, with sheet rock to follow. Excavation for parking, curbs, sidewalks and landscaping is moving quickly to beat the fall weather."

See the lead story in this issue for more details on this project.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Training at Mosaic
Mosaic has an established partnership with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Laboratory at OSU-Cascades, and we are pleased to be moving forward with DEI training for all of our staff members.

Our partnership with the DEI Laboratory and these education sessions are directly tied to one of our 10-year strategic plan goals, which calls on Mosaic to "Advance issues of diversity, equity and inclusion, within and outside of our organization, and take an active role in addressing racial injustice."
Mosaic Brand Refresh Set for 2022
Mosaic recently started working with a consultant with the goal of refreshing our brand to better reflect the full scope of care we offer the community. The project includes a refreshed mission and vision, updated name and visual identity, and a new website.

Mosaic is so much more than Medical – this refresh will help us better communicate that to the communities we serve.

We plan to introduce the refreshed identity in 2022 as part of our 20th Anniversary celebrations. Stay tuned for more info soon.
Something to Smile About: Brighter Smiles Campaign
Mosaic Medical would like to thank Bend Dental Group, Bend Family Dentistry, Shevlin Dental Center and Timm Family Dentistry for their continued support of the Brighter Smiles Campaign in 2021.

In total, just over $13,000 was raised to provide dental care to low-income children across Central Oregon. Thank you!

Thank you to Our Community and Partners!

We are so grateful to our community and partners for supporting Mosaic and helping to improve access to quality care for everyone in Central Oregon. Below are just a few examples of recent efforts that are making a difference in the lives of Mosaic patients.
This past spring we launched a volunteer program at Mosaic to assist with COVID-19 vaccination efforts. Thank you to our partners at Deschutes County, Volunteers in Medicine and First Interstate Bank in helping to get this huge effort off the ground.

As we wrap up the first year of funding to support at-home Colorectal (Colon) Cancer Screening kits for patients, we are excited to announce that the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute Community Partnership Program has awarded us a second $50,000 grant to enhance our outreach efforts among our Spanish speaking population.
Mosaic was recently awarded a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to recruit patients with uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure) to participate in a patient monitoring program. Over the next three years, Mosaic will purchase over 800 blood pressure cuffs that will be provided to patients and used to monitor their health status remotely.
