It’s not too early to schedule back-to-school Well-Child Visits!

The goal of Well-Child Visits are to make sure that your child starts the school year off as healthy as possible and ready to learn. Don’t forget, our seven School-Based Health Centers located in Bend, Redmond, Madras, Prineville and Sisters are open year-round to serve your family. Patients do not need to be a student at the school where the health center is located to receive services. All children ages 0-18 are welcome. Call us now to schedule: 541-383-3005.

CARRY NARCAN, SAVE LIVES:

Now available at no cost

Narcan, the brand name for Naloxone, is a nasal spray that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. The use of Narcan provides additional time for emergency responders to arrive on scene. It is easy to administer and can be used by anyone to help save a life.

Mosaic recently applied for and received a Save Lives Oregon grant to allow our sites to distribute Narcan to staff and community members free of charge.  We want to encourage people to carry Narcan and be prepared to administer it if encountering someone experiencing an opioid overdose. If you administer Narcan, you are protected just as you are if you were to administer CPR. There is additional protection for people under Oregon’s Good Samaritan laws.

If you are interested in obtaining free Narcan for use in an opioid overdose emergency, stop by the front desk of any Mosaic site

Virtual Scribe Allows for More Time for Connection

Feeling heard and seen is an important part of maintaining good health. While accurate documentation is just as important, focusing on the computer can take away from the time providers have to focus completely on their patients. To create more time for connection, Mosaic will soon offer our patients the option of having a “virtual scribe” listen to their visit and write chart notes into their electronic health record. After the visit, providers will review the notes before saving them, just as they have always done.

Less time spent on the computer means that Mosaic providers will have more time to create meaningful connections with patients during appointments. Those who have used virtual scribe charting report positive experiences, and we are excited to begin using this tool to benefit our providers and our patients.

Support Dental Care for Kids

Please consider purchasing a whitening kit through our Brighter Smiles campaign to support the Kemple Children's Dental Fund.

The Brighter Smiles campaign was originally conceived by the Kemple Memorial Children's Dental Clinic, which operated from 1998 – 2020 and provided free dental care to local kids in need.

When the clinic closed in 2020, Mosaic started a special fund to continue its mission. Mosaic now administers the Brighter Smiles campaign and all profits raised go directly to the Kemple Children’s Dental Fund.

Community Steps up to Support Mosaic

We’re honored to recognize Les Schwab Tire Centers (Premiere Sponsor) and PacificSource Health Plans (Food/Beverage Sponsor) for their generous support of our recent More than Medical Fundraising Luncheon. The event raised over $83,000 to help advance our vision of a healthy and thriving community for everyone.

We’re also deeply grateful to the following sponsors for their partnership: Hacker Architects, St. Charles Health System, OnPoint Community Credit Union, TDS Telecom, Skanska, Central Oregon Health Council, Brown & Brown Insurance, Brooks Resources Corporation, Best Best & Krieger LLP, Press Pros @ The Printing Post and Q Group Inc.

Together, we made a meaningful impact—and we’re so thankful for our dedicated community partners.

Celebrate With Us!

Mosaic recently received more than $300,000 from the Multi-Agency Coordination Group facilitated by Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council in support of our Street Medicine Program.

These crucial funds, which are a result of Governor Tina Kotek's Executive Order (EO) 24-02, will be used to purchase rugged and reliable vehicles for our Street Medicine team, allowing them to travel safely, meet people where they are (often in the forest) and continue to provide comprehensive medical and wraparound services to homeless patients across the region.

Mosaic's Director of Patient Support Services Lindsey Stailing participated in an informative panel discussion at the June City Club event "Together at the Table: A Community Conversation on Food Insecurity."

Our Conners Health Center was recently the site for a roundtable discussion and press conference with Governor Tina Kotek, Oregon healthcare experts, providers and nutrition specialists who administer Medicaid and SNAP benefits and family members who receive these benefits. The stories shared by participants were moving and informative.

Medicaid and SNAP benefits are vital for more than half of Mosaic's patients as well as many other community members.

Mosaic CEO Megan Haase, FNP chatted on camera with Representative Janelle Bynum recently about the critical role Medicaid plays in providing access to healthcare in our community. Watch the video HERE.
