As we look back on the past few months, I am struck by how powerfully our community continues to live out Mosaic Miami’s mission, connecting across difference, cultivating emerging leaders, and finding common ground through dialogue, service, and shared purpose.
From our ongoing work with faith leaders and educators to the inspiring voices shaping Miami’s next generation, this season has been a reminder that progress happens when people come together with courage and curiosity. The stories below capture just a glimpse of that momentum, the conversations, partnerships, and celebrations that make our mosaic so vibrant.
As we look ahead to November, Give Miami Day offers a moment for all of us to reaffirm that commitment. It is not just an opportunity to sustain Mosaic Miami’s work, it is a day for our entire philanthropic community to show up for the city we love. We are especially grateful to our Silver Medallion honoree Rebecca Fishman Lipsey and her team at The Miami Foundation for their visionary leadership and for inspiring Miamians to invest in our shared future. Every gift, no matter the size, helps strengthen Miami’s civic fabric and ensures that empathy, leadership, and connection continue to flourish here.

In September, Mosaic Miami brought its Emerging Leaders Dinner Series on the road to Belen Jesuit Preparatory School for a powerful intergenerational evening of dialogue and connection.
Our guest of honor, Tony Argiz, Mosaic Miami Silver Medallion honoree, shared invaluable wisdom and perspective with students, alumni, and community leaders.
We were also honored to be joined by Belen President Father Willie Garcia-Tuñón (2025 Silver Medallion honoree), along with members of his leadership team, school board, alumni, and current students, all contributing to an inspiring night of mentorship and meaningful conversation.

Back in July, we had the privilege of welcoming Dr. José L. Dotres, Superintendent of Miami‑Dade County Public Schools (M‑DCPS), as our distinguished guest of honor.
Dr. Dotres shared insights on what’s happening within the school system, provided important updates, and spoke about his career path leading to his role as superintendent of one of the largest school districts in the country.

Under the leadership of Rabbi Judith Lazarus Siegal, we continue to lay the groundwork for meaningful interfaith work in South Florida. Each month, we host an Interfaith Clergy Dialogue, bringing together faith leaders from across the region to engage in thoughtful conversations on local issues.
This August, we were honored to gather at the Religious Studies Department at FIU, where our discussion fostered mutual understanding, deeper connections, and collaboration across diverse religious traditions. We are grateful for the growing partnerships and the shared commitment to building a more united and compassionate community.

In August, we joined communities across Florida in recognizing Faith HIV Awareness Day.
Our Executive Director Matt Anderson was honored to share remarks at the Faith HIV Awareness Luncheon hosted by the Florida Department of Health at UU Miami. The gathering was a powerful reminder of the role dialogue, compassion, and faith play in breaking stigma and ensuring no one walks alone.
We are grateful to our faith partners who continue to lead with courage and care as we work together to advance HIV awareness and support.

We are proud to celebrate one of our incredible MetroTown 2025 Delegates, Jullian Farrington, who was selected out of 500+ applicants to join The Allstate Foundation National Youth Service Summit!
As the Founder & CEO of Jullian’s Gateway, he represented his nonprofit with passion, connected with leaders from across the nation, and walked away with new skills and ideas to fuel the amazing work they’re doing in our community.
We are proud of the lasting impact MetroTown has on our delegates! Through bridging connections, standing up for what’s right, and celebrating diversity, our students leave MetroTown equipped to create change far beyond camp.
