Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant:
As we celebrate 250 years of Independence, we can learn from our Founders' relationship with the Lord.
For example, John Adams said:
"The Holy Ghost carries on the whole Christian system in His truth. Not a baptism, not a marriage, not a sacrament can be administered but by the Holy Ghost….There is no authority civil or religious – there can be no legitimate government – but what is administered by the Holy Ghost."
His cousin, Samuel Adams, said: " "I rely upon the merits of Jesus Christ for a pardon of all my sins." "The name of the Lord (says the Scripture) is a strong tower; thither the righteous flee and are safe [Proverbs 18:10]. Let us secure His favor and He will lead us through the journey of this life and at length receive us to a better."
George Washington was already fighting the British when the Declaration of Independence was signed 250 years ago.
Without Washington's humble trust in God, as can be seen from his journals as a teenager, the war could never have been won.
At the museum of the Bible a new exhibit is honoring American's 250th birthday. A key portrait is highlighted showing George Washington at Valley Forge, praying in the snow, praying for guidance when the fight for America's independence seemed lost. He takes a knee in humbleness to God.
Carlos Campo, Ph.D., CEO of the Museum of the Bible, says, "Washington is most powerful on his knees. That's what he knows, because he is bowing to a greater power who can infuse him with true leadership."
When we humbly repent and seek His Wisdom He favors our battles. This is a Truth for you and me today in each of our lives, as we celebrate 250 years of Liberty purchased by Jesus Christ!!
