Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

In June we celebrate the Sacred Heart of Jesus. As Christians, we are called to share in Christ's life and sacrifice. From the heart of Christ, pierced by the soldier’s lance, blood and water poured out, “the wellspring of the Church’s Sacraments.” This Friday, on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we will pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Mass.

Free Presentation for Elk Grove Township Seniors

This Friday, June 16th at 10am, seniors of Elk Grove Township are invited to a free presentation addressing legal services for power of attorney for healthcare, property and living will declarations at the Elk Grove Township Meeting Hall (600 Landmeier Road, Elk Grove Village.) Light refreshments will be served. To discover more or to register, call the Older Adults and Benefits Specialist at (224) 222-0942.

Update on Eucharistic Adoration

It has been beautiful to see so many parishioners spending quiet time with Our Lord on Wednesdays and Saturdays. As we continue to grow this devotion to our Lord, present in the Blessed Sacrament, we wanted to answer some Frequently Asked Questions from the last few months:

  • We pray the Rosary at 9am and the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3pm as a group, aloud. Other than these group prayers, we request that a respectful silence be observed in the Church, including the Narthex.
  • We have expanded signups to include room for up to 4 Adorers per hour. However, it is important to note that there is NO LIMIT on the number of Adorers in the church at any one time.
  • Additionally, we DO NOT require you to sign up to come for Adoration. The purpose of the signup is simply to let everyone know which hours of Adoration are covered. Jesus is our honored guest, and as with any special guest, we don't leave Him unattended.
  • Though you are not required to do anything when you sit with Jesus, there are several quiet activities that may help you pass the time in His company. Please look for our "Be An Adorer" trifold or the flyer "25 Ways to Spend Your Hour with Jesus" on the Welcome Table, or visit our website for ideas.
  • Occasionally funeral Masses may need to be scheduled at the worship site hosting Eucharistic Adoration. When this occurs, Adoration will continue until approximately 15 minutes before the funeral Mass when the Blessed Sacrament will be reposed. Adoration will resume at the conclusion of the funeral Mass. Due to the nature of scheduling funeral Masses, we are not able to provide advance notice of these events.

Do you have a question about Adoration that wasn't addressed? Please let us know! Additionally, we are looking to fill in the following roles within our Adoration Ministry:

  • Adoration Coordinator. Remove old signups, print or copy new signups, fill in dates on signups as needed. Maintain the roster of active Adoration Ministers and assist in finding backup adorers.
  • Adoration Ministers. Act as point person for one or more hours of Adoration by insuring that a minimum of two adorers per hour are scheduled and helping to find adorers when none are scheduled or an adorer can't make it or needs to leave early.

If you would like to lend your time and talent to our Adoration Ministry, please contact the parish office by e-mail or telephone (847) 979-0901.

Parish Rummage Sale

Thank you to all who browsed our Parish Rummage Sale during the Picnic on Sunday! We will leave the Rummage Sale up for a while, so please stop in during parish office hours (M/W 9am to 5pm; Tu/Thu 10am to 5pm; F 9am to Noon) or before or after Sunday Masses to stroll down memory lane and see if something catches your eye. There are bags to help you carry your finds along with a free-will offering jar in the hallway behind Shea Hall. If you have any questions, please contact our parish office at (847) 979-0901.

Season for Life

Life is a precious gift from God! Each year our Respect Life Ministry celebrates that gift from Mother's Day to Father's Day with a Season for Life. Together, with our partner agencies, we are helping to create a culture that respects life from conception until natural death. If you haven't dropped off donations or purchased Father's Day cards, please do so before June 18th. Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you at the Spiritual Adoption Baby Shower, see below for more info:

The Respect Life Ministry invites all to celebrate the birth of our "Spiritually Adopted" babies with a baby shower following the 10:30 am Mass on Sunday, June 18th, at Queen of the Rosary Church. Come and celebrate by indulging in pastries, coffee and juice as we mark the birth of those babies we spiritually adopted back in October.

The Respect Life ministry thanks all those who "adopted" a baby and prayed for it during these last 9 months. Let us celebrate new life coming into the world!

Father's Day is this Sunday, June 18th! Find thoughtful cards for Father's Day in our church vestibules. The requested donation is just $5 per card, and proceeds will benefit Illinois Right to Life's Project Love. Pick up cards to honor all the dads and dad-like figures in your life!

Happy Father's Day

Wishing all of the dads, dad-like figures and single parents who do it all a happy, healthy and safe Father's Day spent with loved ones.
