See Our Adoptable Dogs
Cinco de Mayo

Happy Mother's Day to all the incredible mothers in the PAWS dorm and beyond!

The Paws in Prison program is truly transformative, offering inmates the chance to develop essential life skills such as patience, responsibility, and work ethic while making a positive impact on the lives of rescue dogs.

Carrie's journey, as highlighted below, is a beautiful testament to the program's mission of "saving more than dogs." It's inspiring to see how compassion and teamwork can create ripples of change both inside and outside prison walls.

We are so thankful for our sponsors! Not only has Ladies of Charity Lakeway gifted us with grants for veterinary bills and educational scholarships, they also allow us the opportunity to display our cause and spread our mission in their Lakeway Thrift Store!

Check out this Easter display that our talented inmates created. Each board contains the lyrics to the classic "Amazing Grace" hymn. Photo below with our Executive Director, Ms L, and Social Media Manager, Nicci.

A COUPLE OF BIG ASKS FROM OUR SUPPORTERS!

We really try to limit the requests we make to our generous supporters but the reality is that we cannot do it without your help!

You may remember us promoting  Reign many times over the last 15 months. It's shocking for us to believe but this sweet and smart young lady is STILL looking for her forever home.

At nearly three years old, Reign has spent far too much of her life waiting for someone to give her the love and care she deserves.

She joined the Paws in Prison program as a puppy and had a few shortcomings during her first adoption. Despite her amazing progress and lovable personality, she’s been at a boarding kennel for the last 8 months. With nearly zero exposure she has been stuck there through no fault of her own. Let’s change that for her!

Reign's Resumé:

  • Social Butterfly: Reign does like other dogs if they are not too obnoxious with her and would be a great companion for your furry family members! We are a bit worried about her excitable interest in cats and kids, otherwise, she'd be living in the Board President's home right now.
  • Star Student: This clever girl thrived in her obedience and crate training during the Paws in Prison program. She's even been exposed to scent training! She has worked with numerous professional trainers outside the prison as well, to try and get multiple evaluations on her to help get her adopted.  Unfortunately, most people are not familiar or have the desire to work with a shepherd dog with shepherd traits.
  • Big Heart: Whether she’s working hard to please or simply hanging out by your side, Reign brings endless love, loyalty, and plenty of goofiness into every moment. She LOVES BELLY RUBS, WATER, and to PLAY BALL! She is extremely loyal to the people she calls her own. She has not shown resource guarding in the kennel environment, but we were told she was guarding the couple, who adopted her originally, from their house guests.

Reign is ready to "Reign" over your heart with her charm and enthusiasm. What she truly needs now is a chance—a home, a foster family, or even someone to spend an hour or a weekend with her. If you can’t adopt, you can still be her advocate! Share her story and help her find the loving family she’s been waiting for.

Reign is located in Bulverde and is counting on a compassionate soul to give her the fresh start she’s dreamed of. Let’s give this wonderful dog a life as extraordinary as she is. Are you the one who can make her tail wag?

Please contact us at info@pawsinprison.com if you can help Reign and we will point you in the right direction!

WE NEED DOG FOOD!

We have been fortunate to have donations from Amazon and dog food manufacturers in the past but those are not available right now.

Keeping the food consistent is a priority to prevent stomach troubles.
