“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.”
- Psalm 139:13

Church Family,

Mother’s Day is this Sunday and it’s a beautiful opportunity to gather in worship, give thanks, and celebrate the gift of mothers and mother figures in our lives.

We’re planning a meaningful and welcoming morning together. As you arrive, you’ll be greeted with special hospitality, including mini muffins and a small gift of flowers for every mom. During worship, we’ll take time to thank God for the love, strength, and faithfulness we see through mothers across generations.

This is also a wonderful Sunday to invite someone to join you—a friend, neighbor, or family member who might be encouraged by the warmth of our community and a word of hope in Christ.

We’d love to see you there!

Blessings,

Pastor Kellen

Sunday's Services

"The Spirit Among Us"

This Sunday:
“Not Alone: The Spirit Is With You”

John 14:15-21

During the month of May, you have an invitation to rediscover the Holy Spirit—not as a distant idea, but as God’s living presence moving in and among us right now. What if the Spirit is closer than you think? Perhaps the Spirit of God is already opening your eyes in uncertainty, accompanying you in ordinary days, shaping you in seasons of waiting, and nudging you toward a life of courage and purpose. Over four weeks; through Scripture, prayer, and real stories from our community, we’ll explore where the Lord’s Spirit is already at work and how we might begin to notice, trust, and follow.

Adult Education

Upcoming classes led by Dr. John Walton

Sundays, May 10 & 17 at 10:30 a.m. in Stewart Hall

We’re delighted to welcome Dr. John H. Walton, Professor of Old Testament Emeritus at Wheaton College, for a special two-week Adult Education series. A widely respected biblical scholar and author of more than 30 books, Dr. Walton is known for helping readers see Scripture through the lens of the ancient Near East—bringing fresh depth and clarity to familiar texts. His engaging teaching style and passion for making the Old Testament accessible and meaningful promise a rich and thought-provoking experience. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn from one of today’s leading voices in biblical interpretation.

This Sunday's study will address general principles for interpreting the Old Testament. Many Christians would say that they value the Old Testament as God’s Word, but when it comes to reading and understanding it, they often falter in confusion. We will consider some important principles that are essential for us to be faithful interpreters as we seek a clear understanding of the message God has for us in the Old Testament.

Serve at The Bridge

What we do:

  • Travel to 1443 Roosevelt at Ashland in Chicago, carpooling from First Pres around 5:30 p.m. to arrive at 6:30 (or you can drive on your own)
  • Short training/update session, and welcome of our guests (some of whom will be new to The Bridge that night)
  • Participate in their worship service, then serve guests a wholesome meal that may be their best (or only) one of the day
  • Clean-up and return home around 9:30 p.m. This will be an unforgettable experience!
