For the 22 years Wiefit has been in business, the most asked question has been, "what should I be consuming before and after my workouts for energy, muscle gains, and to replenish, while still wanting to burn fat?"
There are two times that protein and carbs in liquid form are far better than whole food due to the rapid absorption rate.
P&P (pre & post) is a Wiefit formulated Protein - Carbohydrate ratio of 1:1 made specifically to be taken before and after workouts. Each scoop has 20 grams of fast digesting proteins, and 20 grams of fast and slow digesting carbohydrates (a very strategic formula of sweet potato powder, maltodextrin, and waxy maize).
P&P is perfect to have 20 minutes before your workout to deliver energy (carbs) and actually feed your muscles the protein for muscle growth during your workout! Many people make the mistake of having a protein-only shake before and after their workout which is a critical mistake. Your body will use whatever is in your bloodstream for energy. So, if you only give it protein, your body will burn up that protein for a terrible form of energy, preventing that protein from getting to the muscle tissue for muscle growth. By having a 1:1 ratio of protein to carbs, your body will always default to burn up the carbs from the P&P for energy needs, allowing the protein to get to that muscle tissue you are working, and begin the process of muscle synthesis!
After your workout, two things have happened. Your glycogen (carbs stored in the muscle for energy) is on empty, and you also have a very aggressive amount of blood being pushed to the muscle that you just worked ("the pump"!). Another serving of P&P immediately after your workout will replenish glycogen levels and will directly feed protein to your worked muscles! These two "meals", before and after your workout, truly are your two most important meals of the day when it comes to fueling energy and feeding muscle!
