New Podcast Explores Motivational Interviewing
PCSS has expanded its podcast offerings with a discussion on motivational interviewing, a counseling technique that has been found to be successful as part of treating substance use disorders. In this podcast, mental health counselor and educational specialist Raymond Isackila,EdS, LPCC, LICDC, speaks on the powerful communication technique. Mr. Isackila is an educational specialist and manager of Addiction Recovery Services in the Department of Psychiatry at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He is regarded as one of the leading authorities on substance use and counseling of chemically dependent patients. He has worked with numerous organizations including the National Football League.  Listen to podcast.

HRSA NHSC Offers SUD Expansion Loan Repayment Program
The National Health Services Corp program is providing student loan repayment opportunities to members of the health workforce who are dedicated to supporting patients overcoming substance use disorder. This translates to opportunities for physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who possess a MAT waiver and provide medication assisted treatment.

Mental health professionals, registered nurses, pharmacists and substance use counselors (with a minimum of master’s level education) trained to provide opioid care interventions at approved NHSC sites are also eligible. [ Learn more ]
