12th Annual 5K & Sister Walk

Thank you to the 139 runners who came out on Sunday for our 12th Annual 5K & Sister Walk! The rain held out long enough for our eager runners and walkers. The overall male winner was John Ford and overall female winner Lisa Dang. See the list below for a complete list of winners. Special thanks to Jessica Carlaw for taking over this event this year as well as all of those who helped support this event!

5th Grade Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 8th our 5th graders braved the blustery day to travel to Annapolis and tour the United States Naval Academy and the Maryland State House.

Teacher Appreciation Week

During the week of May 5 - 9, 2025, the Friends are organizing a celebration of our Teachers and Staff. This is our chance to say "Thank You" for all they have done to help our children during this past year. Please help us thank our entire staff who make Mount Aviat Academy a place where children can grow.

Please see the Sign Up Genius link below to sign up for donations for this event and send them into school marked "Teacher Appreciation Week" (most of the items are available at Costco, BJ's, or Amazon). If you are ordering from Amazon, you can have any items delivered to the school. The Address is: 399 Childs Rd.,Childs, MD 21916 - Attention: Sr. Joseph Margaret. Packages also can be dropped off in the breezeway during Easter Week. We would appreciate all donations sent to school by Tuesday, April 29th. There are 33 staff members as well as the 8 Sisters who help run the school.

Grandparents' Day Information

Our annual Grandparents' Day event will take place on Friday, May 9th. Invitations went out in the mail this week to grandparents. If for some reason the grandparents in your family do not receive the mailing soon, please contact admissions@mountaviat.org to ensure we have their information in FACTS. Grandparents will join us on May 9th at

10 am for a prayer service, show, and lunch. RSVPs must be received by May 1 to ensure lunches can be prepared. If your grandparent plans to sign out your child at the end of the event, please notify the homeroom teacher via email beforehand and ensure the grandparent signs out your child.

Volunteers Needed! We need a few parent volunteers to assist with making lunches for Grandparents' Day on May 8th from 9-11 am and then distributing them on May 9th from 11-12. If you are available and interested in helping, please contact Mrs. Nichols at admissions@mountaviat.org. Thank you!
