Announcements

If you would like to contribute to the Easter flower fund in memory of or thanksgiving for special people in your life, you can use this link: Easter flower form.

As is our custom, these will be published in our Easter bulletin.

Palm Crosses: You are invited to help make palm crosses tomorrow at 9am. It’s fun with a breakfast treat and beverage. Melanie looks forward to seeing you.

After more than five years of faithful service, the Bishop and Deacon Stuart have discerned together that it is time for a new placement. As Deacons serve at the discretion of the Bishop to meet the needs of the wider Church, we prepare to send him forth with gratitude. We thank "Deacon Stu" for his years of ministry in our community and will host a farewell during coffee hour on Palm Sunday. His last day with us will be Easter Sunday.

Parish Prayer List and Prayer Chain: The Mt. Calvary Prayer Chain group on the Groups.io website includes a repository of prayer request messages as well as a database of current prayer requests, used as the parish prayer list.

Parishioners willing to commit to praying faithfully for those on the current prayer list are welcome to join the Prayer Chain group. Those who simply wish to submit a prayer request without joining may do so by contacting the Prayer List Administrator (Jack Seefeldt: john.michael.seefeldt@gmail.com; 717.421.2919) or the Parish Administrator (mtcalvary@mtcp.org; 717.737.9834).

Please see the FAQ document, "Mount Calvary Prayer Requests: Using Groups.io Email List and Website," at this link.

After 4-1/2 years of faithful service to Mt. Calvary, Lori has shared that she is ready to enter a new season focused on her family. Knowing how important a smooth transition was for our church, Lori graciously chose to stay on through the completion of our recent changes to ensure we were on firm footing before stepping away as our Administrator.

While we will miss her leadership in the office, we are so grateful that she will remain a vital part of our church family as a member. Lori will also continue to be in the office over the coming months to oversee a seamless handoff, ensuring our operations remain steady.

Hearing assistance during services is available. Please see ushers for details.

When e-mailing the church office, please use mtcalvary@mtcp.org. This address will go directly to the parish administrator.

Men’s Breakfast Group 2025-2026

Mt Calvary Men’s Breakfast Group meets the second Saturday of every month from October through May. We meet at the church and start at 8:30 and end at 9:30. Coffee and breakfast bites are available. Our meetings are a combination of prayer, sharing about ourselves and a discussion of "Secrets in the Dark”" by Frederick Buechiner. It is a celebrated collection of sermons, essays and talks spanning the author’s career, revealing his deep engagement with themes of faith, doubt and personal experience.

You may choose to buy the book, but it is not necessary as our group leaders will introduce the chapter(s) and then open it up for discussion. It’s a great opportunity to get to know other men at Mt Calvary and to have some God centered dialogue with other men. We welcome new members! For questions, contact Dean Wharton at 717-329-1200.

MCP Women’s Study Group: We are underway in our Women’s Study Group, and we have been having meaningful and rich discussions with both laughter and tears! You might enjoy these wonderful gatherings, too! We are continuing to discover the broad applications to ourselves as a community, as well as to ourselves, personally, in Accidental Saints by Nadia Bolz Weber. You don’t have to have read the book. We invite you to join us! No commitment is necessary, just drop in and see what you think and how you feel! We meet at 6:45-8:00 on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month downstairs in the Undercroft. Our next book will be A Tree Full of Angels by Macrina Wiederkehr, which we will being discussing at our next meeting on April 8. We hope to see you! Questions? Please call Marcia Wharton, 717-728-6322.
