Community BBQ

Mission and Outreach will be hosting a Community Dinner on Sunday, September 21, at Mount Forest United Church at 5:30 pm.

It is open to all! This will be a BBQ supper, hamburgers, sausage, along with BBQ side dishes and dessert. We are seeking a few BBQs to borrow; contact Janice Benson at 519-314-7579, if you have one we could borrow.

Congregational Meeting

The Leadership Team is requesting a Congregational meeting on September 28th, immediately following the service, to discuss the Church House. The Church House presently has an issue with MOULD in the basement. The foundation walls of the Church House are stone and therefore porous. Water flows freely into the basement, causing mould to grow. The Leadership Team has a quote to resolve this issue. The cost for this mould remediation is approximately $60,000. There are other notable issues with the Church House, that being said, wiring and windows that should be updated and replaced. The cost of that is not known at this time. The congregation should be aware that at present the budget for the Church House (heat, hydro, etc.) is 105% spent to the end of August 2025.

Because of Health and Safety concerns for our employees, Rev. Lori and Juliann are moving their offices to the Church.

The Leadership Team is concerned about the long-term sustainability of maintaining the Church House. The Leadership Team is not prepared at this time to spend large sums of money to maintain the Church House without input from the congregation.

The Leadership Team is calling for a Congregational Meeting to discuss possible options related to the future of the Church House.
