Dear Mount Pleasant residents and business owners,
Happy Thanksgiving!
The holiday season is here already and we are gearing up for another year of special events, honored traditions, and holiday fun for the whole family. Thanks to the leadership of Town Council, along with Town staff, and of course, our citizens, we have much to be grateful for in Mount Pleasant. This time of year always serves as a reminder to me of the wonderful people, amenities, and experiences that make our town the best in the nation.
We intend to continue this trend of excellence and we look forward to doing just that with the addition of four new Council members. This year we welcome: Mr. Bob Brimmer, Mr. Joe Bustos, Mr. Jim Owens, and Mr. Will Haynie to the Mount Pleasant Town Council. As we congratulate all our new Council members, we would also like to recognize and thank our former Council members: Mr. Ken Glasson, Mr. Chris Nickels, Mr. Chris O'Neal, and Ms. Thomasena Stokes-Marshall for their years of service and dedication to the Town of Mount Pleasant. We would like to especially recognize Ms. Stokes-Marshall who retired from Town Council after 17 years of public service to our community.
In addition to Town Council, our Town staff is also working diligently throughout the holiday season to provide top quality services to our citizens. Please continue reading below to learn more about all the activities, events, and projects occurring in our community.

The Mount Pleasant Fire Department would like to remind you to exercise extreme caution this Thanksgiving if you plan to deep-fry your turkey. When preparing a fried turkey, Lowcountry cooks should remember to follow safety tips in order to enjoy a typical southern delicacy without sacrificing safety for good taste," said Fire Chief Herb Williams. "Remember that the use of turkey fryers by consumers can lead to devastating burns, other injuries and the destruction of property.
