Ever played Pickleball? Even know what it is? This fun paddle sport combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.  It is easy to learn for all ages and all athletic abilities. The court is badminton-sized with a slightly modified tennis net. The game is played with an over-sized paddle and a plastic ball with holes (a whiffle ball). It can be played as doubles or singles - or Mom and Dad can gang up on the daughter! We have an entire court near the Owner's Club and another on Upper Canyon dedicated to this game and as the weather cools you should give it a try. Be sure to bring your own supplies.

Check your gym bag for lost locker keys

It is easy to do. You borrow a locker key from the board in the fitness room and then you forget to return it on your way out of the building. We are missing a few of the men's (blue) and women's (red) keys from the check out board. Take a quick look in your gym bag and bring it back if you have it. No shame. No blame. Total amnesty!

Mountain Bridge resident in local play

Sept 7 - 10, 7:30 p.m. with Sunday matinee
General admission - $13
Purchase at  www.azwtc.org

The Arizona Women's Theatre Company in Mesa produces contemporary, provocative, thought provoking plays written by women. In September, WAWTC is producing, NECESSARY TARGETS by Eve Ensler, staring our own Mountain Bridge resident Kathi Osborne as "J.S.".  The play is about two American women, a Park Avenue psychiatrist and an ambitious young writer, traveling to Bosnia to help women refugees confront their memories of war. Though the two have little in common beyond the methods they use to distance themselves from their subjects, they emerge deeply changed as they confront their own fears in the face of violence, resiliency and war....straightforward intensity and comic relief make her characters' plight absorbing and moving.
