Welcome to our Monthly MCI Updates email! We will be sharing Monthly Office Hours, latest updates from Feeding America on MCI, latest MANNA-wide stats, and monthly focuses for our agencies.

Feeding America has just shared some insights on their roll-out of Service Insights/Mountain Community Insights throughout their network. MANNA was one of 12 originally selected to pilot this program in 2021 and just 3 years later the network has grown to include 53 active Food Banks!

Fond farewell to Taylor Mackowski, who has accepted a position at Feeding America! While she no longer is directly a part of our team at MANNA, her advocacy and championship now have an impact at a national level.

Due to this change, please use the MCI@mannafoodbank.org email for any questions or inquiries as our team has interim support while hiring for a new Mountain Community Insights Manager.

Monthly Focus - MCI Feedback Survey

2024 has been busy! Thanks to everyone who has helped MANNA launch MCI to better advocate for our community with actionable data. As we take a moment to reflect and get set-up for continuing to roll out into our network, we'd appreciate if you'd take a few minutes to help us understand what's worked well and what hasn't with MCI.

You'll be able to share your input on which features you find value in, the quality of the support you're receiving, and what you'd like to see added to the platform. Your answers will help inform our decisions in the coming months as we continue to build our MCI team, understand how the NCDIT Grant can help our WNC communities, and provide training in a Trauma-Informed way.

Feeding America Feature Updates & Fixes

General Updates

Race/Ethnicity and additional drop downs are now working correctly.

Duplicate management threshold updated to 40% - previously, a neighbor’s match score had to be at 50% or above to move into Duplicate Management. This score has been lowered to 40% to allow for more possibilities in Duplicate Management.

New column “Marked as Duplicate” in Duplicate Management table.

SIMC now supports October 1st as a TEFAP eligibility recertification period.

“Proxy Names” column now appears after Proxy column in All Data (Identified) export.

Food Lion Grant Information Page

If you're a 501c within 20 miles of a Food Lion you're eligible for their Fall/Winter Grant! Your application window is July 15 - September 12, 2024 and grants will be awarded in early December. Check it out HERE!
