2018 FOS
AND WHY

The annual Family Friends of Scouting (FOS) Campaign provides an informed opportunity for all
parents, leaders, chartered organizations, community members and alumni to help provide the
financial support needed to deliver local Scouting's character-building programs. Rather than
charging the actual cost of Scouting when new members join, we collect only the National BSA
registration fee, which we forward to our National Office.

SCOUTING ACCESSIBLE
TO FAMILIES

By: Randall Stephenson, National President
Charles Dahlquist, National Commissioner
Mike Surbaugh, Chief Scout Executive

This is an exciting and important time for the BSA. Our recent historic decision to serve families by inviting girls to Cub Scouts and delivering a program that will enable them to earn the rank of Eagle Scout sustains our mission of preparing more young people to live the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

NEW FRIENDS OF SCOUTING (FOS) GIVING METHOD
FOR 2018

For the 2018 FOS Campaign, we are utilizing a new Text-To-Give program to increase flexibility for the many thousands of Scouters and friends who support us financially.  Council Marketing Committee Robert Moore introduced us to this MobileCause giving option and he has helped us to move forward with a program that's used successfully by many other councils across the country.

2017 SCOUT POPCORN SALE
A GREAT SUCCESS

This year's sale saw more than $937,000 worth of popcorn products sold to family, friends, neighbors and other Scouting supporters.  An impressive 214 Packs and Troops participated in the sale, raising the funds they'll need to conduct an ideal year of Scouting adventure in 2018.
