Beyond the lists: On the rock

A/U Ranches Team

Summer preparations are going strong at the A/U Ranches! And as we get closer to camp, it might feel like we're contending with a lot of lists – of campers, programs, tasks, and training topics. But at the heart of it, we know that every step, every task, every individual is under God's direction.

We've started to dig into spiritual ideas that help us stay "on the rock," as our metaphysical theme reminds us. We're grateful for prayerful ideas that cut through the mental lists that try to occupy our thought and reassure us that at every step, we are one with God.

Who's working at camp this summer?

The summer staff list is coming together! Check out who's helping bring camp to life this summer – assistant camp directors, program heads, counselors, CITs, and more. We'll continue to update this list as more positions are finalized.

Staff Camp: Building skills and community

Matthew Rice, Sky Valley Camp Director

Our plans for summer are in full swing, and a big part of that is getting ready for Staff Camp. We want to ensure everyone feels equipped, encouraged, and ready for fun!

Did you know?

A lot happens behind the scenes at Staff Camp. We practice leading cabin meetings, playing group games, giving program inspirationals, and making backcountry meals. It's a really special time to grow closer together to be our best selves when campers arrive.

What our campers love about camp

As we prep for summer, we love looking back at feedback and fruition from the previous summer. Here are a few camper quotes that keep us smiling and excited for summer 2026:

I learned to keep connecting with God, how to use a compass, and camping skills.

I loved learning spiritual ideas from the Christian Science practitioner.

My friends and counselors were really fun and amazing.
