A weekly snapshot of what's happening at Christmount

Welcome to Mountain Time!
|
Time seems to be a little bit different when you're at Christmount. The stressful tick-tock of the clock is replaced by the dancing shadows of the trees; days are not measured in hours, but in experiences; and no matter the time of year, beauty is always in season.
This. Is. Mountain Time.
"Mountain Time" is also a weekly snapshot of what is happening here at Christmount. We send snippets of info, pictures, and blurbs about events. It's fun, informative, and keeps you connected. Take a deep breath and e
njoy!

Van Needed
This beautiful Dodge Caravan has been with Christmount since 1904, has 2,543,817 miles on the odometer, and must be pushed up the steep hills. It runs on gasoline, kerosene, and 2 squirrels under the hood ... who are also "getting up in years" as they say.
Former owner of the van, Mr. F. Flintstone, said that he used to haul his pet dino around the quarry in this van.
If you would like to purchase this collector's edition automotive masterpiece, we would be happy to sell it to you. The price is negotiable - we will go as high as you like.
Or perhaps you have some insider trading information that you could slip our way so that a new van could be obtained.

Thanks for the Equipment!
Lookit this! We asked - you answered. Board and Council members who gathered here this past week brought lots of goodies for our summer campers to play with this year. We received playground balls, Pickleballs, badmitton rackets, gamecocks, softball gloves, nets, frisbees, water balloons, ping pong paddles and balls, nerf balls, and lawn darts (the safe kind).
If you need me, I'll be down on the ball field for the next 3-4 hours.
Someone
has to test all this equipment.

Board / Council Leadership Retreat Highlights!
"Zowie!" said one new Council Member. This is how she described her first Leadership Retreat at Christmount.
And I'll be honest - it WAS a lot of fun. And it was fun because we were all so engaged in the whole process of the retreat. We not only discussed development work, we DID development work. We didn't just talk about the future, we WORKED on the future. We planned, we dreamed, we schemed - and it was incredible.
We participated in a great presentation from Alan McGuinn, lead architect with ARCA Design, who is helping us articulate an overall master plan for Christmount.
We laughed and learned with Eddie Hill, who led us through a Team-Building Workshop to help get us "on track" and get us moving "full steam ahead."
These are exciting times to be a part of Christmount! We are rocking and rolling. Hope you can make plans to come visit sometime soon!

Council members put some ideas on paper! Here, they are working on a possible layout for a new lodge to replace Davis Hall. Some really creative ideas!

Celebrating Jamie!
"Zowie!" said one person who attended the banquet Monday night. (I know, we should've interviewed a different person for this story. Deadlines. What're you gonna do?)
We had a great time at Jamie's retirement party this past Monday night. We enjoyed trips down memory lane, video messages, singing, and good food!
Special thanks to all who helped plan it, organize it, set it up, clean it up, and everything in between.

Sponsor a Camper,
Sponsor a Camp!
Camp Lakey Gap and Camp Sunshine are looking for businesses, companies, or individuals who share the vision of connecting with our communities AND who would be willing to help financially support these amazing programs.
As an official sponsor, your support will allow more participants to attend Lakey Gap Autism Programs and Camp Sunshine summer programs. Request an official Sponsor brochure, describing all the opportunities to help in this way! You will be helping a lot of families by supporting camp through this opportunity.

Hooray! That's just what we wanted!
The group from FCC Livingston last weekend re-worked our Compost Bin in the Dining Hall Garden and built a brand new Worm-Composting Container!
