AVID Students spend a week interning at our office and externing offsite
Last month, the Chamber hosted 22 AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Students who spent a week interning at our office and externing offsite. The students got to learn about the Chamber and how we support the Business Community, they interacted with over 50 area businesses and helped to market our "Hiring Hacks" small business roundtable. They developed their LinkedIn profiles, took professional headshots and were able to meet and connect with local business and government leaders. The Chamber hosts AVID students every winter and spring break and we want to continue to help facilitate the connection between students and business. We a re currently looking for partner businesses who would be interested in hosting the students for a half-day in the spring (April 15-18). Please contact Dawn Maher for more information.
