Downtown Parking Study

The City is exploring potential downtown parking policies and strategies and would like your feedback to learn about options we should consider. We are gathering data about how you access and park downtown to better understand how to improve the overall parking experience. All of the information gathered will be presented in a report to City staff and City Council in early 2019 to help determine if exploring new downtown parking policies is something Council would like to pursue.
Thank you for taking the time to help us, and we look forward to your feedback. For more information about the study, visit:  https://www.mountainview.gov/depts/comdev/economicdev/downtowndev/dtparking.asp
COMMUNITY NEWS
I Love Mountain View: Mountain View Community Shuttle
I rode the Mountain View Community Shuttle today to do a few errands. It’s a great way to get a free tour of our city. I took photos along the way, through the bus window.

The free shuttle started 4 years ago, and it is 100% sponsored by Google. They just renewed their contract which will continue the service in our community through 2019.

It’s free; just hop on. It leaves every 30 minutes and there are about 30 stops. Here’s a map of the stops . I was on it for the entire route today and it took just over an hour. You could get so many....
Weekend San Francisco Caltrain Closure – Oct. 6 to Late Spring 2019
Construction is advancing along the Caltrain corridor for Caltrain Electrification. To accommodate the brand new electric trains, construction crews will begin work in the four San Francisco tunnels starting in October.

In order to facilitate work in the tunnels,  trains will not serve the San Francisco or 22 nd  Street stations on weekends from October 6, 2018 to late spring 2019.  Caltrain service will stop at Bayshore Station and free bus service will transport passengers to the 22nd and San Francisco stations. Caltrain encourages customers to consider alternative transit options on weekends, including BART via Millbrae Station. Weekday Caltrain service will not be impacted. For more service information, including a list of transit alternatives, please visit   www.caltrain.com/SFweekendClosure .

Crews will create additional clearance in the tunnel sides to accommodate the new trains and will install anchor bolts in the tunnel ceilings to facilitate the installation of the overhead contact system that will power the new electric trains. For more information on the work visit  CalMod.org/SFtunnels .
