Join Mountain View Police Department officers to learn about basic personal safety as well as ways to prevent yourself from becoming a victim of fraud. Also learn tips and tricks about cyber security.

Are We Still in a Drought?
Join Valley Water representatives for a presentation about our region’s drought challenges and local water supply outlook. Speakers will share information about Valley Water’s conservation programs, water-saving tips, details about our region's water source, major infrastructure projects, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive free water-saving gadgets.

We have a Bright Idea - Learn to fix a lamp with Repair Cafe
Have a lamp you like but no longer works? Don’t toss it – repair it! In partnership with Repair Café, the Mountain View Senior Center is hosting a lamp repair workshop. This hands-on workshop will feature a demonstration and volunteers to assist you with the repair of your lamps. Bring a lamp that needs fixing, or learn on one of ours that needs repair. If you have tools, (screwdriver, wire clippers, pliers) bring them along. Repair Café will have spare tools on hand as well.

The Mind Diet
The Alzheimer’s Association estimates that 14 million Americans will have Alzheimer’s or dementia by 2050. But with defensive lifestyle choices, Alzheimer’s can be prevented. The County of Santa Clara Public Health Nutritionist will present on the MIND Diet which focuses on learning how to nourish our brain to reduce all diseases.

SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM
Indoor Dining
Community Services Agency’s Senior Nutrition Program has a full dine in meal service in the Social Hall of the Mountain View Senior Center. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Sign in will begin at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served starting at 11:45 a.m. The Social Hall will close at 1 p.m.

Lunch service for Special Events is limited and first come, first served. On occasion, not all patrons can be served.

Movies are on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m.
Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.
Come to one of our movie showings in Multipurpose Room B.
Maximum seating for movies is 36. First come, first serve.
When available, screenings have captions for the hard-of-hearing. There is no fee to enjoy these popular movies and seating begins 30 minutes before the show.
NOTE: Please bundle up or bring a lap blanket with you to the movie. The room tends to be on the cooler side.

AARP DRIVER SAFETY
AARP will be holding an Initial Course Thursday, March 9 and Thursday, March 16 from 1 – 5 p.m. in Multi B. Patrons must attend both classes to receive credit. Currently, there is no Refresher Course scheduled at the Mountain View Senior Center.
SOCIAL SERVICES
The Second Harvest Free Grocery Program distribution is located in Multipurpose Room A. The Program will operate from 8:30 – 10 a.m. on the first through fourth Tuesday of each month. To register for Second Harvest please call 1-800-984-3663.
AARP tax aide certified volunteers will return to provide free assistance and e-filing for low-to-moderate income taxpayers, especially for those over 60. In-person appointments will take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning Feb. 8, 2023 through April 13, 2023. To schedule an appointment, please call the Senior Center at 650-903-6330 or stop by the Front Desk.
SALA has returned to in-person appointments at the Senior Center on the first Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. In order to receive free legal services, patrons must be at least 60 years of age and a Santa Clara County resident. To schedule an appointment please call the Senior Center Front Desk at 650-903-6330.
HICAP provides free and objective information and counseling about Medicare. Appointments are available on the third Monday of each month. Volunteer counselors can help you understand your specific rights and health care options. To schedule an appointment, stop by the Front Desk or call 650-903-6330.
