Housing by Silicon Valley Independent Living Center
SVILC will be hosting a workshop on options for housing in Santa Clara County and what to expect when searching for housing. Also, learn a few strategies for finding housing both locally, in person, and online.

How Trees Make You Healthier + a Tree Walk
Canopy, an urban forestry nonprofit, will present a workshop about the physical and mental health benefits of trees, and then lead participants on a half-hour walk through Rengstorff Park. You will learn how trees lower rates of respiratory disease, cardiovascular complications, and heat-related illnesses, and how they enhance social, emotional, and mental well-being by reducing stress and depression. You’ll then get the chance to experience the benefits for yourself on a guided walk through the park where you will learn about a selection of tree species.

Indoor Dining
Community Services Agency’s Senior Nutrition Program has a full dine in meal service in the Social Hall of the Mountain View Senior Center. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Sign in will begin at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The Social Hall will close at 1 p.m.

Lunch service for Special Events is limited and first come, first served. On occasion, not all patrons can be served.

SOCIAL SERVICES
The Second Harvest Free Grocery Program distribution is located in Multipurpose Room A. The Program will operate from 8:30 – 10 a.m. on the first through fourth Tuesday of each month. To register for Second Harvest please call 1-800-984-3663.
AARP tax aide certified volunteers provide free assistance and e-filing for low-to-moderate income taxpayers, especially for those over 60. In-person appointments will be at 9 & 10 a.m. on most Wednesdays at the Senior Center. Space is limited between May 3 and Oct. 18. To schedule an appointment, please call the Senior Center at 650-903-6330 or stop by the Front Desk.
SALA has returned to in-person appointments at the Senior Center on the first Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. In order to receive free legal services, patrons must be at least 60 years of age and a Santa Clara County resident. To schedule an appointment please call the Senior Center Front Desk at 650-903-6330.
HICAP provides free and objective information and counseling about Medicare. Appointments are available on the third Monday of each month. Volunteer counselors can help you understand your specific rights and health care options. To schedule an appointment, stop by the Front Desk or call 650-903-6330.
