Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill made low.
~Isaiah 40:4
How many mountains do you have to climb today? Does the darkness at night magnify the size of your challenges? Do you lie awake worrying how you will get over or around the mound of problems confronting you?
It is good to be reminded that we have a God who can make “the rough places smooth” and “turn the darkness into light” (Isaiah 42.16). Ask God to guide you, and step by step. Let go of the things you have no control.
There are moments when we might feel like it is all too much for us. That feeling of being overwhelmed can paralyze us and keep us from thinking clearly. We must turn all our mountains over to the Lord. We will get through what lies ahead and find ourselves on the other side, with a stronger faith and trust in God.
With God’s guidance and help, those mountains will become blacktop roads, the steep parts especially. With God’s light in your darkness and love in all circumstances, you will find the steeps not so steep and the darkness overcome with God’s light.
Turn to him when your mountains get big. He is waiting for you!
