Presentation 1:
Protecting Outside Wireless Equipment, Antennas, and Related Components
Many schools, municipalities and corporations are moving to a campus-wide WiFi everywhere model. For outdoor installations, access points are typically mounted on top of buildings, on the sides of buildings, or on light poles. For maintenance, code, and aesthetics reasons, mounting on buildings and light poles is becoming less acceptable. WiFi bollards present ideal solutions for the wireless designer, outside plant manager, and architect. A WiFi bollard is a standalone facility which contains the access point, antennas, cabling, and associated powering and switching equipment. The bollard is designed to be installed precisely where the wireless coverage is required, is acceptable from an aesthetics standpoint, protects and secures the equipment, and is transparent to the wireless signal. In this presentation, attendees will learn about outdoor WiFi installation options, aesthetics requirements, and cabling to and powering outdoor WiFi equipment.
Oberon's line of Model 900 WiFi access point mounts has expanded. Why? Our customers wanted more customization!
Model 900s are a convenient, secure way to mount access points on hard lid ceilings, walls, or hanging conduits. These are areas notorious for difficulties in cabling management and maintaining a professional aesthetic, and we often see shortcuts in prior installations which compromise the physical security of mission-critical wireless equipment.
Oberon simplifies the process by offering mounts designed specifically for installation these challenging environments, providing a convenient location for proper cable termination, and offering a variety of AP-specific vanity covers which can be painted for a pleasing aesthetic in any setting.
Surface Mount Boxes
Oberon's Model 900-00-WH mounts and secures Cisco and HP Aruba APs directly on the wall or hard ceiling, with a convenient location to terminate the cabling. It can be mounted directly over a wall outlet or cable cutout in the wall or ceiling. The back plate is fastened to the wall, the AP is fastened to the front plate, cabling is terminated inside, and the two halves are fastened together to form a low-profile surface mount box.
The base model,

Model 900s are also available in black with a black, ABS plastic, AP-specific vanity cover. The covers help to conceal APs on dark ceilings or walls and can be painted to match any decor.

Hanging Conduit or Pendant Mounts for WiFi Access Points
Oberon's Model 900-HC-WH conveniently and securely mounts APs from all leading vendors directly onto hanging conduit in open ceilings. The hinged design facilitates standards-compliant termination of horizontal cable inside the box, and simplifies the connection of the patch cord to the AP.
