Re: Move-In Parking Updates and Reminders
To: Staff and Faculty
August 17, 2021
Dear Campus Community,

UC Merced Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) is excited to welcome incoming students to campus, as well as greet more of our community in person as people come to campus this fall.

TAPS expects move-in for new students living in on-campus residence halls to impact parking between at least 7 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18 and 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22. In preparation for move-in, TAPS would like to let people know about changes to parking, as well as provide the most up-to-date information about coming to campus:

  • With completion of the Merced 2020 project, parking at UC Merced has undergone significant changes, including the creation of several parking zones in Bellevue Lot. These new zones will change to support move-in weekend, as well as periodically for maintenance. Please comply with all posted parking signs and contact TAPS at [email protected] with any questions. For more information on parking permits, please click here.

  • TAPS asks those not directly involved with move-in to please park in authorized lots other than Bellevue and Scholars during move-in hours. Move-in will significantly increase the use of Bellevue and Scholars lot and parking in other authorized areas will improve traffic flow throughout campus. For additional move-in information, please visit https://housing.ucmerced.edu/fallhousing.

  • The University has issued an executive directive on COVID-19 mitigation measures, including the requirement that all individuals are required to wear face coverings on UC Merced controlled property when indoors and on UC Merced operated public transit. To read the latest updates, including the full directive, please click here. For more information on transit routes, please click here.

Thank you for being part of the UC Merced campus community. Please contact TAPS at [email protected] or (209) 228-8277 with questions.

Sincerely,

UC Merced Transportation and Parking Services
