Move-In weekend starts tomorrow, and we're eagerly anticipating your arrival to Queen's Residence!
You must submit your photo for your Student ID card and sign the Residence Contract before you arrive. You will not be able to receive your keys if you haven’t completed these tasks.
This issue will focus on the important details that you must follow for Move-In to run smoothly. Your move-in instructions were sent to your Queen's email this week – read them to be prepared, and remember to print out your zone card in colour.

Complete It Takes All of Us
This program is mandatory and will help ensure that every first-year student is aware of and understands their role in preventing sexual violence.
You must spend a minimum of 20 minutes engaged with the program and you must pass the learning check/quiz with a score of 80% for your attempt to be recorded as valid. Please remember to click the COMPLETE button for the system to recognize that you are finished. You will receive a confirmation email if your attempt meets these requirements.
You must complete this program before September 2, 2025.

Important Move-In Guidelines
- Screenshot or flag your Move-In instructions email (check your Queen’s inbox). We’ll ask to see your name, room, and student number when you check in.
-
Bring government-issued ID with you.
-
Print out your zone card in colour (see Move-In instructions email), fill it out, and set it on the dashboard of your vehicle during Move-In.
-
Do NOT use Google Maps, Waze, or other navigation apps on Move-In day. Many roads will be closed or turned into one-way streets to ease congestion. By following your zone card directions, you will save time and help to ensure a smooth Move-In.
- Please label your belongings clearly with your name and room number.
-
Leave cardboard and other packaging at home to support our efforts toward a Wasteless Move-In.
-
You will have 5 minutes to unload your belongings in the unloading zone.
- Drivers must stay inside the vehicle.
-
There will be many volunteers who can assist you.
-
While your driver parks the vehicle in your designated parking lot, you may start to move your belongings into your room or wait for them to return.

Move-In Map
Download our Move-In Map for a preview of all the routes. You will need to print out your zone card in colour — see your Queen’s email for Move-In instructions.

Make your move-in experience comfortable
- Say goodbye to the family pet before coming to campus.
- One vehicle per student, no trailers!
- Bring a reusable water bottle (there will be filling stations) and snacks!
- Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and dress for the weather – we're currently expecting rain on Saturday.
- Bring a cart as there are a limited number of carts available
- Be prepared to wait in line
- Say goodbye by 4 pm – you have your first floor meeting and a planned night out.
Move-In tends to generate a significant amount of waste each year. Help us create a Wasteless Move-In!
