ICYMI: Microtransit Webinar Recording Now Available

Move Minneapolis's latest webinar featured microtransit – a popular new on-demand transportation option that is available now in 16 local communities.

"Door To Door - Microtransit In The Twin Cities" explored the growing use of minibuses that offer flexibility similar to ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft, but at bus fare prices. Rides are booked via apps to locations within established transit zones or to connect to regular fixed route buses.

A panel of microtransit experts from SouthWest Transit PrimeMetro Transit Micro, and Minnesota Valley Transit Authority Connect explained how the programs work and how their ridership is growing. This is a very exciting time for microtransit in the Twin Cities! Watch the video here.

Drive Less, Save Money, Park When You Need To With FlexPass

Why pay for a full month of parking when you drive into downtown only 2-3 times per week? FlexPass is perfect for hybrid work schedules, active transportation enthusiasts, and part-time workers. Flexpass allows up to 14 days of contract parking at an affordable rate while providing the flexibility to bike commute, ride transit, or telecommute on other days of the month. For $90 per month: get guaranteed parking at Ramp A for up to 14 days per month with in-and-out privileges. FlexPass is only available at Ramp A.

FlexPass Covers the Bases for Todd

With a hybrid schedule and nearby express buses cancelled, Todd needed a better solution than contract parking when he returned downtown after COVID. Enter FlexPass: "I wanted a more flexible parking package that permitted me to work remotely for a portion of the week.” Flexpass allows Todd to park up to 14 days each month for $90, with in-out privileges on those days to catch a show at First Avenue or a game. “I have Twins tickets for the season, so I look forward to parking in Ramp A on game days/nights with easy skyway access to the ballpark.”

FlexPass Has Amenities for Pete

Pete is a new owner of an electric vehicle. He found that FlexPass offered a great fit both for his hybrid schedule and his charging needs. He pays only $90 for parking up to 14 days at the Ramp A Mobility Hub each month. Pete really likes the ramp amenities: “I recently purchased an electric vehicle and am quite happy I can leverage the FlexPass with the multiple plug-ins in Ramp A.” He now has flexibility, convenience, and the ability to charge his vehicle. “FlexPass gives me a true hybrid option. I don’t have to pay for a full month when only working three days per week AND Ramp A provides multiple convenient electric vehicle plug-in options.”

Find a Bike Repair Station Near You

With recent warm weather, the bike trails and lanes are getting busy again. If you don't ride year-round, your bike may not have seen the sun since last fall.

After storage, bikes often need minor adjustments and air added to the tires to the recommended PSI (pounds per square inch of air pressure). Fortunately, you won’t have to venture far for some simple maintenance. The Twin Cities have dozens of public bike repair stations located throughout the trail network. Two regional manufacturers, Dero (Crystal, MN) and Saris (Madison, WI), supply a majority of these stations.

Bike repair stations come with a bike stand and an attachment of basic tools for small adjustments. Many stations come with attached air pumps. Find the bike repair stations closest to you with this crowdsourced map and make your ride a safe one.
