New Blog Post on Winter Commuting

Winter has arrived, but that hasn't stopped Minneapolis cyclists and runners. With some preparation and a few key pieces of gear, riders and runners keep going all year round.

Minneapolis’ strong bike culture holds through the colder months and several community-led events aimed to help active transportation commuters stay confident as seasons shift. Move Minneapolis’ Catherine Windyk has participated in several winter biking skill shares this season, and Commute Ambassador Daniel Baxter hosted a winter run and bike commuting skill share of his own! Their collective insights come together in a recent blog post,A Season of Skill Shares”.

Check it out for:

  • More information on about how local biking groups prepare riders for the season
  • A “how to” presentation on winter run-commuting and biking
  • Tips for gear, keeping warm, safety, and how to keep a positive attitude when the temps dip below zero

2025 Transportation Summit: Exploring AI in Shared Mobility

Last month, Move Minneapolis and the Minnesota Shared Mobility Collaborative hosted a full house at the Hennepin Event Center for the 2025 Transportation Summit: Exploring AI in Shared Mobility! More than 80 transportation professionals, business owners, employers, community members, and advocates came together to explore the challenges and opportunities of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) in our region’s transportation sector.

Tara Olds, MnDOT’s Director of Minnesota’s Connected and Automated Vehicles Program, opened the event with a keynote on how AI currently interfaces with Minnesota’s transportation system. A panel discussion followed with insights from Nick Martini, Senior VP at American Student Transportation and Northstar Bus Line, Tammy Meehan Russell, President of The PLUM Catalyst, and Erik Hansen, CEO of SouthWest Transit.
