Move United, the national leader in community-based sports and recreation for individuals with disabilities, has selected the City of Hoover and Birmingham, Alabama, as the host for the 2023 Move United Nationals. In addition, the event will expand to include adults as well as youth athletes with a physical, visual, and/or intellectual disability.

Join us in Hoover July 8-15th 2023!

ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT GRANT OPPORTUNITY
Move United, in partnership with The Hartford is empowering youth and adults with disabilities to achieve amazing things by making adaptive equipment and sports more accessible.
 
NEW! EXPANDED ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
We are excited to expand the eligibility criteria to allow more Move United Member Organizations to participate in this grant opportunity and help smaller organizations grow their services and membership to reach more in your community. Partners are eligible to receive $30,000 to $50,000 with the primary purpose of supplying new inventory of adaptive equipment to your community and introducing new youth and adults with disabilities to adaptive sports.
 
Move United Member Organizations that have not previously received this grant are eligible to apply.
Join the Movement: Teach, share concepts and mentor at Ski Spectacular!
Move United invites qualified adaptive instructors to apply.
 
Member Organizations: Please share this application to any qualified instructors in your program. Member organizations with 4+ accepted instructors will be recognized as a Ski Spectacular Contributing Organization. Event dates: December 4th-10th

WHEELCHAIR TENNIS & PICKLEBALL CLINIC
September 16th-18th | Riverside, CA
Join SoCal Adaptive Sports on September 16-17 for wheelchair tennis and September 18 for wheelchair pickleball.
 
This program is geared towards Veterans but all community members are welcome who want to learn to coach and/or play these games. There is no fee for participation in the event. Housing not included.

MEET MOVE UNITED
Micaela Venus
EVENTS SPECIALIST
Micaela joined the Move United team in 2021. As the Events Specialist, she organizes events and plans programs for Move United, including Ski Spectacular, Move United Warfighters events, Sponsor events, and OnDemand (virtual) workouts.

She comes to Move United after 6+ years at the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA), a chapter member of Move United, as their Program Director and Volunteer Coordinator. Micaela has a B.S. in Recreation Therapy from University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.
