SEEEKING JIM WINTHERS VOLUNTEER AWARD NOMINEES

The Jim Winthers Volunteer Award recognizes life-time contributions and significant achievements in furthering recreational adaptive sports. Nominees for this award must have contributed a minimum of 10 years of volunteer service to Move United or one of its member organizations. The award is named in honor of Jim Winthers, a WWII veteran and member of the U.S. 10th Mountain Division who became a pioneer in teaching adaptive skiing. He was one of the early founders of a predecessor organization to Move United.

GATORADE HIGH SCHOOL ADAPTED SPORT GUIDES

Move United’s Education team is excited to offer new resources to assist in integrating adapted athletes into existing high school athletic programs. This can be achieved without altering rules for athletes without disabilities or imposing significant administrative challenges on State High School Associations. The High School sport guides are instrumental in breaking down barriers to inclusion, as schools have a unique opportunity reshape perceptions of disability by promoting access and equity in sports.

We currently have guides available for these sports with more to come!

  • Swimming
  • Track & Field
  • Wheelchair Tennis
  • Boccia

Move United would like to thank Gatorade for their generous support of these resources. Request copies at this link or download digital copies and view accompanying courses within the Education HUB.

MOVE UNITED SANCTIONED COMPETITIONS CALENDAR

Move United Sanctioned Competitions are among the best adaptive single and multi-sport competitive events in the United States and are sanctioned by both Move United and applicable National Governing Bodies.

All Move United Sanctioned Competitions are qualifiers for The Hartford Nationals conducted by Move United, scheduled for July 11 - 17, 2025, in Grand Rapids, MI.
