2024 The Hartford Nationals hosted by Move United: SAVE THE DATE!

We are thrilled to share that the 2024 The Hartford Nationals is taking place from July 12-18, 2024, again in the welcoming city of Hoover, Alabama. This storied event, now in its 67th year, is both a national competition and a celebration of adaptive sports, sportsmanship, and community. More than 400 athletes will participate in a week brimming with competition and fun.

INCLUSIVE PLAYBOOK 2.0

Did you know? Move United has launched a second edition of its Inclusive Playbook. Responding to user feedback as well as a need to keep current with the ever-evolving adaptive sports landscape, we are excited to share the new changes. Check it out at hub.moveunitedsport.org/education and share with friends, colleagues, local schools and sport programs to help destigmatize disability and build a community centering inclusion for all youth.

PRINCETON COMMUNITY WORKS ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Princeton Community Works 2024 is a virtual educational conference for nonprofit boards, staff, and volunteers. You will increase your skills in nonprofit management, add helpful tools and techniques that will support your mission, and connect with other nonprofit organizations.

FUNDING AVAILABLE

TRAILS CAPACITY PROGRAM

The Trails Capacity Program is open to applications for projects on public or private land across the country. These grants are for work on motorized or nonmotorized trails/project that are open to the public anywhere in the United States and Puerto Rico. We will focus our funding on state and local lands, and projects on federal lands will be accepted.


Application Deadline: January 15th

2024 USTA WHEELCHAIR TENNIS GRASSROOTS GRANT

USTA Wheelchair Tennis Grassroots Grant initiative provides support and assistance to organizations for the development and promotion of an existing or planned Grassroots Wheelchair Program at a facility, to be used during the Grant Program cycle.


Applications must be submitted by an entity or organization in good standing with the State it operates in, and must have a broad base of community support, meet a compelling need in the community and align with the priority funding areas for wheelchair tennis outlined in the grant application.


Application Deadline: January 31st

MEET MOVE UNITED

Jacob Tyree

Training Coordinator

Joining the Move United team in 2022 as our Training Coordinator, Jacob oversees the management of VA Adaptive Sports Training Grant funded programs. He works closely with network and industry partners to elevate training opportunities for adaptive sport providers as well as support various education projects and initiatives. Jacob brings with him a vast amount of experience in the adaptive sport space as an athlete, coach, and sport professional. Jacob played collegiate wheelchair basketball at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a concentration in Technology.
