Celebrating Cape Ability Outrigger Ohana
Cape Ability Outrigger Ohana, a long-time Move United member organization, is shuttering its doors after 15 years of service in the western New York region and beyond.

The organization has made a significant impact in the adaptive sports movement, specifically in regards to the development and growth of para va’a, or outrigger canoes.

New PSIA-AASI Certification Standards Announced
The new certification standards will bring increased consistency and alignment to PSIA-AASI’s eight divisions, giving members more clarity for how to teach, turn, and succeed in their profession. As the new standards are implemented – beginning with alpine, cross country, and snowboard this fall – PSIA-AASI members will enjoy increased consistency, and clarity, in how they can grow as professionals, teach better lessons, and achieve advanced certification.

SportsAbility Alliance (Tallahassee FL)
SportsAbility Alliance captures all that is possible for people of ALL abilities. The name Florida Disabled Outdoors Association was developed when the organization formed in 1990. 31 years later and it was time for a change to better reflect what the organization does.

MEET MOVE UNITED
Shuan Butcher
COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
Shuan joined the Move United team in 2017. He has spent over 20 years in the nonprofit sector in various capacities and leadership positions. He received his undergraduate degree from West Virginia University and a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership from Mountain State University. An Army Veteran, he has coordinated the annual Brunswick Veterans Day for the past six years and is involved in other community organizations and efforts.

Shuan has written for various publications, including the Frederick News Post, Eastern Home & Travel magazine, and others. He is also a member of the National Press Club. He lives in Frederick (MD) with his wife Cindy and dog Snowball. They enjoy a number of outdoor activities, live music, and traveling.
