International Symposium of Adapted Physical Activity
The Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences with its collaborators will organize a multidisciplinary online symposium with the theme "Quality partnerships in Adapted Physical Activity: Stronger Together!"

This symposium will be a showcase for the Finnish collaborative partnerships in Adapted Physical Activity.

U.S. Paralympic Tokyo Team Trials Volunteers Needed
The Paralympic Super Trials to select athletes in Cycling, Swimming and Track & Field are scheduled to be in Minneapolis June 17-20, 2021. More than 300 of the United States top athletes with physical disabilities and visual impairments are expected to compete for slots to be named to the Tokyo Paralympic Games.

Gym Mitigation Act
The GYMS Act—or Gym Mitigation and Survival Act—(H.R. 890/S. 1613) will establish a recovery fund to provide structured relief to health and fitness service establishments that have been uniquely hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lakeshore Foundation (Birmingham, AL)
Longtime Lakeshore Foundation President and CEO Jeff Underwood has announced that he is retiring. The organization’s first and only president, Underwood oversaw the organization through the expansion and construction of its Homewood fitness, aquatics, and sports center, its creation of research facilities and other programs, and designation as an official U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Site.

Adaptive Action Sports (Copper Mt., CO)
For the first time since its debut in 2005, Summer Dew Tour features adaptive skateboarding competitions—in women’s and men’s street and men’s park. Now an established part of Winter Dew Tour, the goal is that moving forward, the summer event will make adaptive competition permanent.
MEET MOVE UNITED
Krista Rappoccio
SENIOR EDUCATION MANAGER
Utilizing 10 years of teaching and leadership experience in New York City Public Schools, Krista is committed to advancing the development of inclusive, accessible and equity driven outcomes nationwide. As a certified Stunt and Cross Country coach, Krista has always been an advocate for opportunities in sports for students with disabilities. She obtained her School Leadership Degree from Bank Street College of Education, previously attending both Hunter College for her MA in Ed and Quinnipiac University for her BS in International Business/BA in History.

A New Yorker at heart, Krista lives in Dallas, TX, where she enjoys traveling, reading, history, cooking and a good Netflix binge.
