Jazz in China (2022)

Jazz in China? It may seem strange that this democratic form of music would be thriving for over a century in a country rooted in authoritarian rule, but after learning about the development of this musical genre in the greater context of China’s political landscape you’ll finally understand how and why. Please take advantage of this unparalleled opportunity unique for the China Council: exclusive limited-time access to this documentary, which is the companion to a book of the same name.

Join Movie Chat Host Shireen Farrahi for a lively online movie discussion.

Watch the movie first at your convenience then join us at 7 PM PST Monday to discuss.
