The face-covering is being worn by a boy in Kenya, Africa.
My neighbor sews face-coverings and has donated them to
our WAPI packages that are being sent around the world.
Love comes in many forms!

Greetings!
I pray that the new year will bring HOPE of a new beginning. The whole world has been affected by this virus, and with restrictions around the world seems to limit any outreach to those in need of basic food, water and housing.
We recently received notifications from Project Global Village (Projecto Aldea Global.-.PAG) in Honduras that the country has been ravaged by 2 hurricanes. Over 90,000 people have been dislodged from their homes by a 9-foot wall of water, completely covering the city of San Pedro Sula. Imagine having to leave your home with little or no notice. Thousands of people left with nothing, their water systems have been ruined, their crops have been washed away, their houses have been lost as well. Thanks to the many volunteers, we have sent over two thousand WAPIs to this country that will continue to assist those in need of potable water. One WAPI serves a small or extra-large family. Looking at the availability of a WAPI to serve the populous that can be reused throughout the day; we are proud of our efforts to help provide clean water. Inasmuch as the hurricanes were last November, the need for basic living is still a great challenge in Honduras. The WAPI is a beneficial tool for potable water.
As I mentioned, we have been active in Honduras for three years. Just recently sent over two thousand WAPIs to the local villagers who have now lost everything except for contaminated water. The WAPI is a low-cost small device that can be re-used for many years. WAPIs let's the user know when the water has reached pasteurization temperature which is 149F, killing only the harmful bacteria. Boiling water is not necessary and can reach temperatures over 212F where all bacteria and helpful minerals are eliminated.

Before the pandemic happened, we sent 100 WAPIs to Botswana, Africa. We recently received photos from them showing folks using the WAPI not just for water, but also for stews and soup. This is a valuable tool in emergency situations such as floods and natural disasters. Consider getting one for your emergency packets.

The WAPI has shown itself repeatedly to provide potable water for those who don’t have access to clean water. It is not the total answer for permanent water solutions, but in disasters, or emergency situations, this is the best device available.

The beauty of the WAPI project is to see so many people willing to come together to help others in need regardless of religious affiliations. It’s a great example of the holy spirit moving in the hearts of humanity.

Recently, we are gathering at The Hood View Seventh-day Adventist Church in Boring, Oregon to make and assemble WAPIs. We also have about half a dozen volunteers working out of their homes making WAPIs with hot air guns. The work they are producing is beautiful. With COVID on our backs, this will be the way we will produce the much-needed WAPIs. Give me a call if you want to join the WAPI Project: 503-810-8643. Or consider getting your church youth group or retired citizens involved making them and sending them to those in need. Statistics in recent humanitarian outreaches show that over 1 billion people worldwide do not have access to potable water. That is worse than our current COVID19 pandemic. Make a difference, get involved, and if you can, donate to our cause.
With Warm Regards

Hurricanes in San Pedro Sula, Honduras
Dec 26, 2020
Thanks for your thoughts and encouragement. The container of food finally came and is being distributed in the areas of greatest needs. Andy of Gleanings for the Hungry has already promised us a second container for mid-February.

We are working on repairing community water systems but now we have no pipe. PVC pipe is no longer made here, only in Guatemala and Costa Rica and we have several tractor-trailers of pipe ordered and are waiting until it is made and shipped to us next week. Some water systems are six-inch pipe systems which are pretty pricey!

January 10, 2021
We are now receiving PVC pipe from Guatemala, although it will be a while until we have what we ordered. Edgar had distributed the pipe in Belen and they are busy ditching and installing the pipe. We also have sixty other systems to help repair, but we are hopeful that all of the PVC pipe will be here soon. Pastor Jose Luis from southern Honduras has taken your shipment of five hundred WAPIs to distribute in communities on the southern Pacific Coast!!
In November 2020, Honduras was hit hard by two hurricanes in a row.
The article is a combination of two emails saying how Chet Thomas from
Project Global Village
is helping the inhabitants of Honduras.
See Google pictures showing what
a beautiful city San Pedro Sula use to be.
We have begun with housing with a tentative promise of about 100 houses in six communities. We will be using an inexpensive design using elements 4” square concrete posts to frame the house, then place a steel roof, an inside bath and shower, but no outside walls. The house will be wrapped with a heavy plastic tarp and two doors will be provided. The new owner will need to install the 4” concrete blocks to close in his house and then decide how to make the internal divisions. This unit will cost about $1800 to $2000. But a more finished house will cost between $5500 -$6000. We can do three times what we can do with one finished house.

We have prefabricated two steel houses with windows and doors, metal siding, bathrooms, and concrete flooring, but the cost is about $3500. The inside is not finished but each family can finish it off by family labor. I am trying to get housing money, but it is slow going. We are using our equipment to repair roads, and in some areas, we are providing fuel to do the work!!

Honduras still needs a lot of help.
Keep us in your prayers!
Chet Thomas, PAG
Hurricane Eta has created a horrible situation and late yesterday afternoon, Nov. 8 the government ordered all the people living in the Sula Valley to evacuate immediately. There were thousands of families on rooftops trying to find a way out of the 12 inches deep water, and the government advised and warned that the runoff water from mountains out west was a “wall of water of several meters high coming towards the Sula Valley, which was going to increase the depth of the water already in The Valley. There was no way that hundreds of thousands of people were going to make it to high ground by last night. My staff saw situations where there were only a few small boats trying to move thousands of people to high ground from villages in The Valley."

It's a great way to introduce WAPIs.
